Staffs are the owner. They are great, helpfull. Its little bit far from center. They have realy good bikes, i ll rent next time
The greatest difficulty is to find the place. take the 1/3 trolley from the bus station and get off a stop past the spartak stop/station and you will be about 400 meters from the place. then use the map. the 29A number is high up on the hostel and not at street level.
The hostel is impossible to find : better to take a cab right away !! The staff was not nice, and had no information to give us about Yalta. The room was very clean, but too many beds in it so no space to fit our bags. Also the kitchen was common with the owner's own house : they left their stroller in the middle of it... No space to sit in : only a small table and a TV was on it, 4 chairs for 30 people ! Weird people were "praying" in the room at night, it was scary.
We had an awsome time in the hostel...only one thing and that's not enought toilet and bathrooms when the hostel is full...but otherwise it was great to stay there.
Unforgettable atmoshpere ! If I ever come back to Yalta I will definiately choose Sobaka Hostel one more time.
A place with a real hostel atmosphere. Well organized, with all the facilities needed. Clean and confortable and with a very welcoming staff. It's not far from the center and the sea that are easily reachable on foot or by bus.
Everything was good, nice and clean hostel and friendly staff. Good job.
Super cheap and lovely location in the hills about the city centre.
Hard to find, but the upside to that is that this hostel is in a quiet neighbourhood. Some rooms come with a nice balcony. Overall an okay place for a few nights, but beware: there are only 2 and a half bathrooms (including toilets) for the entire hostel, the common room is very small. It can't hold more than about 8 people, out of the approx. 30 beds. No smoke detectors, either, not even in the kitchen. Rooms could also be airier, with more space and slightly less beds. But well... still ok :)
The manager Simon is a really great guy for advice and maps. Location was a pain, great place for meeting other travellers. Only 2 bathrooms but that seems to be a trend in Ukraine.
Only two bathrooms - we always queued... :( And no air-conditioners - too hot to sleep for the high season.
Simon is incredibly helpful and volunteers valuable information when you tell him what you are looking to do. The entire staff is very helpful and is glad to show you around. I would def stay there again if I return to Yalta.
Helpful owners showed me how to get around and even drew a bunch of hand drawn maps. Best deal in Yalta
Beautiful neighborhood, feels like Mezzogiorno (in a good way!). We loved the cats and dogs (you should definitely cuddle them!). Let us make one more remark, the guy working at the hostel is very good in sketching maps, helped a lot to walk around in Yalta. Best hostel ever!!
Amazing hostel.. Thank you Simon for everything.. Kline, Simon is very nice and helpful, gave me loads of recommendations..
Simon and Andre were both very helpful and very friendly. My stay with them was very nice.
A brilliant hostel and the guys are all really friendly and helpful!
Once you find this place, you are in for a treat. The guys who run this place are keen to show you the beauty of outdoor Crimea - take advantage of it! I wish I could have stayed longer.
