You will be welcomed instantly into this charming hostel, a typical building from the 18th century, with high ceilings, wooden floors and stone sinks, all recently renovated and furnished to ensure the best experience possible for travelers. The positive vibes begin from the moment you arrive!
We try our best to facilitate travelers to feel the true soul of the city. Sofia Chill House prides itself on hygiene and safety, as well as our delicious breakfasts to ensure that the guests start their day off with an abundance of strength to explore Coimbra!
Most the main sights are within walking distance from the market to the nightlife, you will pass historic and must-seen places.
And if you still dont know where to go, our wise staff, speaking Portuguese, English, Spanish and French, will be glad to answer your questions or inform you about activities to do; there is always something interesting happening in Coimbra! Nearby services include ATM machines, public phones, a post office, a pharmacy, a supermarket, and the fire and police station all less than a 5 minute walk away. I`ve booked this hostel, but it suddenly redirected us to another hostel - Grande Hostel de Coimbra -, which was terrible. There was no heater in the bedrooms and the bathrooms were equally horrible. Nevertheless, the location was also very poor and the price we ended up paying was overated. I strongly do not recommend either of these Hostels (Sofia Chill House and Grande Hostel de Coimbra).
