Very thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The staff and owner are fantastic, providing the best hostel experience I've yet to have. Street noise is hard to get used to, but the location is good - SoHo is only a few dozen meters from one of the busiest pedestrian streets in the world, after all. Wi-Fi worked without any problems, and the showers were always hot. Great value for the low price you pay. Will definitely stay here when I go back to Istanbul.

The location of the hostel was perfect, in the centre where everything happens in the evening and night. The staff was very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, there was no toilet neither shower on our floor. The room was a bit tight, but cozy.

Great location, near Istiklal Caddesi and Taksim Square, but shabbier-than-average hostel experience. The room where I stayed had bedbugs and housed an employee and the employee's significant other, and the two of them pawed at each other constantly. I know that you get what you pay for, and this was cheap, but I guess I found my lower bound.

Dirtiest place I´ve ever been and I´ve been to cheap hostels all over the world. The room smelled, was dirty, the sheet was full of sperm and they claimed it to be freshly. The facilities were over and over full of excrements. Flush didn´t work in the water closet. The hostel is located very central but there in a bad area full of drug addicted people. The was so loud that you could hardly sleep becaus two nightclubs are beneath.

Owner Comment (Show)
Your comment is very unfair and unjuste. When you arrived, you wanted to see the room and after you decided to stay. You were free to leave and we could even help you to find another place to your satisfaction. Then you asked for another sheet and we gave you right away. By the way, every single linen is washed after use and we wished to smelt it before coming to some weird sperm imagination. You are also the very first guests complaining about our location. We are only 80 meter from the most popular and populated street ( Istiklal Street ) in Turkey, where Polo Garage, Mango and many world famous brands have stores. These brands don't exist in bad areas. You could at least be more reasonable about our location. Low budget travelers, please, if you want to pay least, yet looking for hotel comfort, Soho Hostel is not a good choice for you. Thanks.

This was the second booking I made at Soho within 3 weeks. I stayed here for my entire time in Istanbul, it felt like home immediately due to the friendly and welcoming staff. The common area has good wifi and views over the street. Taksim Square is very close so it was easy getting from the airport. Istiklal is round the corner as are lots of budget for food and nightlife. The staff were always very helpful when I asked them questions about Istanbul and Turkey. I will be staying here again!

The hostel location is very convenient for travelling, friendly staff (especially Anastasia - I love her!!) and nice environment. You will feel like home and being welcomed very much in Turkey, it adds value to your trip to Istanbul!

The price for the hostel is great but the building is old, that's why the atmosphere looks boring. Also location is good, If you will stay in this hostel you should see the photos of rooms.

The location is the best. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hostel is value for money. They should renovate the 2nd bath.

Very cheap, in a great location, lucky to have the bedroom on the same floor with the bathroom. A couple of mornings we had to wait for our turn to the bathroom and luckily we were only in the morning and at night in the hostel 'cause it was dirty and smelly (mainly smoke). I reccomend it for its low cost, supposingly you'll be all day out.

How can a place to be so dirty?

Maybe the worst hostel in Istambul!!!! I think they have never cleaned the hostel since they opened. There's only one wc for all the hostel and it´s really disgusting, and let´s no talk about the sheets!! It´s is very dark and smelly ´cause the staff smoke all over the hostel. And there´s a lot of creepy people actually living there, we didn´t know if they were guests or people from the staff. Weird atmosphere. The only good thing it´s the location.

the beds ( at least in room 47) are horrible but the staff was decent and helpful even though they overcharged me and shortchanged me.. great spot but REALLY easy to miss as there is not much signage and its quite small.. noisy but managable if there isnt a massive turkish guy snoring directly above you..
