Good location for seeing Shanghai but it's not at the People's square as the name indicates. It's one stop away so you'll have to transfer at the People's Square metro station to get a lot of places. Room was small but nice and had a good shower. Great atmosphere.

Good hostel, near to the central Shanghai area. Would definitely stay here again. Staff were friendly, especially helping my friend who arrived after one too many in the early morning ;)

The hostel are good enough for location and facility which is comfortable to live and convenient To get the way, except the reception was not so honest. I booked a five-bed dormitory but was provided with 4 beds room with washroom. It was not informed until checked. The worse part was until 20 mimutes of change room and then it turned out that the 5 bed room still not full included me. When I was checked out then was informed when I checked out and known that I can choose the bed and it hasnot t

Very central place, nicely located along the river, very quiet. They have a cool bar and lounging area, and the staff was very helpful. However, the beds have to be the hardest I've ever slept in! Note it can be quite cold in the winter too, but then so it would be in any other hostel in Shanghai. All in all, good value for money but wouldn't recommend to travellers with backache :)

Good location, nice and friendly staff. There was a slight smell of mildew in the hallway and room. Construction was going on right outside our window early on a Saturday morning. We were upgraded to a window room for free and I would be very upset if I had paid for it as the window was very small and in the corner of the room. Very close to the metro and people's square. Overall good, not great.

The room was a little hot and stuffy and not having a window does not help in this regard

All beds where made and ready but almost every hour a cleaner came in walked around looking then left for no reason. Next morning same thing but opening our lockers even though we were in the beds did not feel belongings were safe and felt unrested as sleep was constantly disturbed by staff coming in for no reason they should know from reception what rooms need doing who has departed rather than disturb people. Dorms need a good clean. Does not have kichen only dirty microwave and fridge.

we didn't know you needed passports to stay in shanghai hotels and so were able to use the facilities but couldn't stay. The hostel were helpful and even offered for us to stay at there flat! They told us about an office where we could get a form which would enable us to stay with the passport copies we had, but there was no such place. The shanghai hostels should all mention that the actual passports are needed for photocopying in shanghai! We stayed at friends in the end.

The twin rooms are fine and the dorms are pretty standard. There's a common area withe good wifi. Friendly staff and most of all good location, five minutes walk from a metro stop on line one.
