Very nice hostel. Staff was excellent!

Positives - Great price. Room and beds were clean. Towels were provided and changed every day. Hot water and toilet facilities worked well. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Travel agency was helpful for tours (and got us good prices!). Negatives - Spotty internet. 1000 baht seems too much for a deposit for me. Stayed in January 2012, with friends.

this comment is about a double room nr12 contra: not clean: there was a condom laying under the bed, the walls were dirty and had holes in it, there are ants running over the ac-cable into the room from outside. very small: the on the pictures, the room looked much bigger. It was about the size of 2 double beds(+bath). facilities: no wardrobe(only a small stick to hang things up), wifi wasn't strong enough to reach the room. shower had not much water. pro: daily new towels, 2 Water bottles free.

Exept for a minor mishap where we left our door unlocked while we slept- Which we'd advise to NEVER do /even when your in the room. Our stay with Som Guest house was wonderful. GREAT location. Wonderful staff. and cheap.

Clean bed, clean room, great AC. Not much for environment or meeting people. They leave the front door and the front office is in another building. Its in a great location, walking distance to Bangla Road. The staff was very friendly... we'd stay there again. If you are traveling alone, I'd pick somewhere else.

Very close to the beach for a cheap price. It was maybe a 5 minute walk or less. The staff will help you set things up, it just seems like they don't know a lot of information about each activity. They had to call a lot, but in the end they always figured out what I wanted to know. The place over charges for breakfast, but we ventured out and many other places are the same. If you want a cheap breakfast in Phuket, you will have to eat fried rice. Other than that, we had a nice stay.

A bit damp in the bathrooms when there is no window/aircon in there.

We enjoyed our stay at Som Guesthouse. The staff were friendly and our room was clean and well equipped. We extended our stay as we liked it so much and it proximity to the restaurants/bars and beach.

Great hostel with cheap price.. Only take 10 minutes away from patong beach Near from seven eleven Reccomended hostel

The Service and the location is very Good,Excellent WiFi and very friendly staff.

Excellent value for money - clean, modern and spacious rooms and only a few minutes walk to both the beach and the nightlife. Only downside for some travellers is that there isn't really a communal area/bar so not to good for meeting other people.

The room is tiny but clean. 5 mins walk to the beach, and 20 mins walk to the shopping center.

if i go to phuket agian i will stay at som again, nice place, nice helpful mary :)

Good little place, clean, very good location, quiet but 2 minutes to all the action, family run. mary was nice and her father was a character. i would stay here again. good value for money.

A hot water boiler would have been useful in the room.. and maybe a bottle opener as well.

this hotel was very clean and also near to the action in patong. right off bangla road, and near the beach. the only problems: kind of hard to find, and also, we left our luggage at the front desk to go book a taxi, when we came back, no one was watching the luggage! anyone could have taken it. other than that, the room was great and the staff was friendly.

We found the location to be great and the staff very helpful. We read that the bed was hard in previous reviews and although it was harder then I had had before it was not uncomfortable and we had 2 great nights sleep. Will definetly stay here again :)
