location is the best, staff very friendly n helpfull. very clean for that price. but the bed a little bit hard. that's a lovely place to stay with minimum budget

Bathroom not working properly (it look´s like a swimming pool after you take a shower) and it was smelly all the time (even when it was clean). Sheets were with blood when we got there. Great location.

Not really a backpackers place cause there is no kitchen where you can have your hot water and other needs.....but its location just a walking distance to the beach area and also to the main road.

Clean with aircon, good beds, television and a great staff. I simply liked staying at this place.

Very good hostel! The room is huge & clean. No bugs & mosquito founded, haha~~ Easy to access to the beach and night bars. The host and his family are very helpful and let us feel at home. One thing that make me deeply moved is that the landlord help us to chasing & waiting the bus from the hostel to the pier even we didn't book the tickets through their agent! I'll definitely stay there again for the next time!!!

VERY nice and hospitable Korean owners. I emailed from Kuala Lumpur while on layover just a few hours before landing asking about an airport pickup - and they were there with a sign waiting. They even helped pick up a friend of ours at the airport and meet us at the pier to catch the ferry - a day after we had checked out. Nice clean rooms, comfortable, and close walk to the action. do it

Mr Cha was a delightful host! Very welcoming and helpful. Had a 3-bed balcony room - very clean and comfortable. Just around the corner from restaurants, and 5 min from beach. I certainly recommend!

It's very clean n neat, i really like the place. it's just like what u see on pic.

We book for 3 days and end up staying 6 days. These place was a great start in our vacation. We travelled with 2 very young kids and this place is very safe for them, and excellent value for money. The staff helped us to book our trips and hire a car to visit the nearby beaches. We want to go back. Thanks a lot.

We arrived late and the airport bus couldn't find the hostel so dropped us off nearby, luckily we found it but better directions would be good on hostelworld. The hostel was cosy and our room was basic but we had a tv and huge fridge, the shower was good and the location near the beach was great. We didn't socialise in the hostel and if travelling alone it would not have been ideal to meet others but if your with someone, it's a great budget option.

Positives - Great price. Room and beds were clean. Towels were provided and changed every day. Hot water and toilet facilities worked well. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Travel agency was helpful for tours (and got us good prices!). Negatives - Spotty internet. 1000 baht seems too much for a deposit for me. Stayed in January 2012, with friends.

this comment is about a double room nr12 contra: not clean: there was a condom laying under the bed, the walls were dirty and had holes in it, there are ants running over the ac-cable into the room from outside. very small: the on the pictures, the room looked much bigger. It was about the size of 2 double beds(+bath). facilities: no wardrobe(only a small stick to hang things up), wifi wasn't strong enough to reach the room. shower had not much water. pro: daily new towels, 2 Water bottles free.

Exept for a minor mishap where we left our door unlocked while we slept- Which we'd advise to NEVER do /even when your in the room. Our stay with Som Guest house was wonderful. GREAT location. Wonderful staff. and cheap.

Clean bed, clean room, great AC. Not much for environment or meeting people. They leave the front door and the front office is in another building. Its in a great location, walking distance to Bangla Road. The staff was very friendly... we'd stay there again. If you are traveling alone, I'd pick somewhere else.

Very close to the beach for a cheap price. It was maybe a 5 minute walk or less. The staff will help you set things up, it just seems like they don't know a lot of information about each activity. They had to call a lot, but in the end they always figured out what I wanted to know. The place over charges for breakfast, but we ventured out and many other places are the same. If you want a cheap breakfast in Phuket, you will have to eat fried rice. Other than that, we had a nice stay.

A bit damp in the bathrooms when there is no window/aircon in there.
