Directions to South Algonquin Backpackers

Located about half way between Toronto and Ottawa, at the corners of highways 62 and 127 in the Village of Maynooth (population 200). It is a scenic relaxing drive from Toronto via highways 401 east, 115 north to Peterborough and 28 north to Bancroft. Avoid the hwy 400 traffic nightmare! Approximately a 3.5 hour drive.

Please note that after 6:00pm ( or 5:00pm during the winter) there are no restaurants or food stores open within 20km of our hostel.

Greyhound bus Wed, Fri and Sun, to/from Toronto, Peterborough, Ottawa and Pembroke with drop off/pick up at our front door.

Please note that our rates quoted here are for Hostelling International members. Non members pay an additional $2.85 CAD per night for a dorm bed or $3.64 per night for a private room.
