The music was very loud all day and night, even in the morning. Why?

I've stayed in many a hostels in the past and this was average. It was in a good location in Miami, not too far from the beach. The staff were OK - although i didn't interact with them much. There was a decent kitchen, laundry and tv room. It is however, very basic and I didn't much like the shared bathroom with the constant blocked toilet. The hallway echoed alot, so you could hear all conversations and footsteps from bed. All round an average hostel that did the job

I stay here almost every winter. It's still a reasonable place to stay, but it has become somewhat less enjoyable, as the Spanish-speaking staff attracts a substantially Spanish-speaking crowd. If I were a Spanish-speaker I would find that an advantage. But since I'm not, for example it becomes far less enjoyable to hang out at the hostel bar when the only language spoken there is Spanish. I noticed many non-Spanish guests are hanging out elsewhere, even at lounges/bars of other hostels.

The kitchen lacks a stove/cook top so you're limited to a microwave or convection oven. The Wifi works in the lobby but you probably won't have much luck in the rooms. There's a nice hot food bar and grocery at 6th and Meridan, a few blocks away. And don't miss the South Pointe Park at the end of Washington, just a few blocks south.

I stayed in a private room and it was perfect for my needs – spacious, clean and plenty of secure storage. It would have been nice to have more restroom facilities (only one urinal and one stall per floor), although there are extra facilities in the reception area. I was in Miami for the marathon so didn't really have a chance to get involved in a night out, but it certainly seemed lively enough! The staff were fantastic – efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. I would happily stay here again

I had a bad experience when we checked in and end up having to pay more. And one night had nowhere to stay. Then one day they wanted to spray for pest in the middle of the evening before bed. No one tried to fix the problem, basically told me to either deal with it or go some Where else !!! Bad customer service

We absolutely appreciate your feedback but truly sad to see the low rating and especially that you did not have a pleasant stay. The difference for your total balance was due to city taxes that would of been applied no matter where your reservation would of been booked. When a reservation is booked through Hostel World they inform you of the total for your stay. On the fine print they state that taxes are excluded. The one night you did not have reserved with us we did have plenty of availability & did offer to keep you in the same room to avoid any inconvenient room changes. The beds were yours to book for the night. Your decision was store your luggage with us for night. I sincerely apologize that our effort was not up to your standards. Thank you again for your feedback. Kindly, Ramon M South Beach Hostel

The only positive aspect of this place is the location. Otherwise I recommend you STAY AWAY! We booked a four girls dorm and it was probably the tiniest room I've ever seen! No way you can fit four people in there. It truly felt like being in a cell. The photos they show are taken from angles that make it look better than reality. They had only two computers both out of order during our three days stay. The staff is clueless about to do in the area. You can certainly find better value for money

We appreciate your feedback. I'm sorry you felt the rooms were small, we will soon be changing the bunk beds in the room with new ones that will have built in lockers so that luggage can be stored better, allowing for more space in the room. The front desk staff has a binder with information regarding tours in the area, as well as wristbands to sell for our club nights. Most of the staff is knowledgeable of the area and are able to give recommendations on what to do on South Beach. I'm sorry you were not able to get the information you needed. We will look into providing the front desk with more information about what to do in the area. We hope you will give us another try once we have finished with our renovations and changes as we are under new management.

Thank you for your feedback! We have to charge Florida hotel tax to each reservation as required by law. I'm sorry you felt we charged you extra. The original price quoted when you book the reservation does not include state taxes. We hope you will come back and stay with us again! Thanks for being our guest!

A typical big city 'Turn & Burn' Hostel very much focused on filling Beds & not much interested on the comfort or experience of Travelers...But this is typical of City Hostels thus the Average Rating! I would stay there again for the price, but have no interest in returning to South Beach Area!!

Thank you for being our guest! The comfort of our guests is our main priority, I'm sorry you did not feel this way. We try to provide a welcome environment for our guests and provide things such as organized club nights, tour booking, full service bar, lounge area and guest kitchen to help our guests get the most out of their stay in South Beach as well as to help them feel more at home. We are recently under new management and are starting renovations in order to provide our guests with a more enjoyable stay. We hope that if you do return to South Beach you will try us again once we have finished our renovations.

I spent 2 weeks in South Beach and stayed in 3 hostels. South Beach is good. I liked the location: 5 min walk to the beach. 15 min walk to the heart of south beach (that's my own term!). What i didnt like too much was the bathrooms 1 per floor (seriously?). So 1 toilet and 3 showers for all the men on the floor. not sure how many men we were though. The kitchen is not a full one. For all this time, I had to cook! Finally, the lobby is small. Most of the time, we were standing outside.

It's not the best or the fanciest but it`s a bed to sleep on. The staff is warm, welcoming, inviting and helpful. It is what you make it!

Linen and towels were dirty even after change. Matresses were dirty and extremely old and uncofortable as well.

Thank you for providing your honest feedback. Our linens and towels are sent out every day twice a day to be washed by a professional linens company. We do our best to make sure each piece of clean linen goes out to our guest without any marks. I can assure you the linens and towels you received were freshly washed, I'm sorry if you received linens with a stain. You can change out your linens as many times as you wish at the front desk. We are glad to inform you that we will be replacing our rooms with brand new bunk beds and mattresses with more locker storage space! We hope you will give us another try once we have updated our rooms.

The place is undergoing some remodeling, which should be nice when it's done. The staff was helpful in offering advice about the surrounding area. The bed was really uncomfortable.

Just an average hostel, but good value for the money you pay. Small rooms, but I was only there to sleep, there is so much to do in South Beach, and this is one of the best locations.

Owner Comment (Show)
Thank you for being our guest! We pride ourselves on our location being two blocks from the beach and walking distance from all the nightlife South Beach has to offer! We hope you will come back and visit us once we have finished our renovations so you will see us as more than average! We appreciate your honest feedback.
