It was a good cheap basic stay, the owners were very nice and helpful but the breakfast was not good. Free continental means 2 slices of toast. Paid for American breakfast means two eggs on those slices of toast. if the breakfast was better (much) it would be a great place to stay. More like a hotel than a hostel, the room was very clean and we had our own fridge and TV. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the owner had many connections which made booking the day tours very easy. Definitely recommended, Southern Fried Rice completely exceeded our expectations!!!More like a hotel than a hostel, the room was very clean and we had our own fridge and TV. That was a fantastic experience! My plan was to stay 5 nights but I extended it to 13 nights! It is a 'family like' atmosphere, everyone makes you feel very confortable. I even had an accident and Terje, the owner, cared about me and took me to the Hospital. Despite this issue my stay was really enjoyable! Would stay there again for sure...That was a fantastic experience! My plan was to stay 5 nights but I extended it to 13 nights! I spent 2 weeks in this hotel and found it to be in a nice location, beach is only 5 mins away. The rooms are modern and clean. The food is really good and the staff are really friendly. Very clan with great, helpful stuff. It’s well located just few minutes from the Kata beach and next to the shops and bars. It also has good internet connection with wifi in the rooms. We were very disappointed about this. No character. The staff can\'t speak English, so you can\'t ask for anything. On the times you needed the owner (he can speak English) he isn\'t around. The owner doesn\'t make people to feel comfortebel. The room was old fashioned, but oke. The restaurant and the stairs where not clean. The food was oke. Internet was really bad (slow and not working at all). They don't have a own free swimmingpool, while the site says that they have.We were very disappointed about this. No character. A great place to stay in Phuket, very clean and very nice, very good internet connection and a cooker that deserves claps. 5 minutes away walking from the beach. In the night a little bit of too much prostitutes bars around but I assume that is the same in all Phuket... I very much recomend this place to enjoy a nice time. One more thing, the guy that runs the place is very well connected and arraged us a boat to Phi Phi, moto renting, etc.A great place to stay in Phuket, very clean and very nice, very good internet connection and a cooker that deserves claps. 5 minutes away walking from the beach. Spent 2 nights at Southern Fried Rice and would say it is more of a nice B&B than a hostel. The room was really big with our own TV and dressing table, about 5mins from the beach, and near to the Night Bazaar.
