Great place to stay. Excellent host who is super helpful. 5 minute walk to the beach. Great free breakfast and cheap beer! Good spot.

Its location on Google Maps needs to be reviewed in order to match with the entrance of the building, since the 'how to get there' explanation is not clear enough for someone who doesn't know the area.

Great room, clean, with fridge and speedy wifi...also the location was near the beach and night markets.They gave you beach towels. The owner helped us with the tickets to Krabi...and also there were many brochures to take tours to phi phi, similan or any place

I had the greatest time at Southern Fried Rice. We stayed 4 nights. Maid service during the stay would have been nice...as I did not see things being replenished like shampoo and soap. And the hot water cuts out quite regularly.

Hostel a short walk from Kata Beach and close to various bars and restaurants. Owner was excellent and couldn't do enough to help you. Room was good size and clean, with safe and fridge. Area can be a little noisy at night.

We had a great stay at SFR in March 2012. The owner's an extremely open and friendly person who'll book the best tours (with very attractive prices) for you. Excellent food at the restaurant (discounts for guests) and an overall positive relaxed atmosphere!

I had chosen the Southern Fried Rice based on the previous reviews on Tripadvisor and can only confirm the positive impression of fellow travelers. My room (nr 6) was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed, and everybody at the hotel was really nice - food was also great .

Clean, friendly, safe, and quiet.. Southern Fried Rice is well worth checking out! The staff is always going to greet you with a smile! The owner, Terje, is always willing to go out of his way to be sure your stay is pleasant. He can book you a ride anywhere you need to go at a fair price. The food is awesome as well. The best spicy Thai salad I have had in Thailand! The beach is a 5 minuite walk.. Check them out!

The owner is a really cool, older Norwegian guy who loves to chat. He's the best. The food here was some of the best I had in Thailand and the room was nice. It's not easy to find the place, but once you do you're golden. The beach is about a five-minute walk away. I'd definitely stay here again.
