Really fun atmosphere, great place to stay. Only "complaint" was that it was hot as hell during the day and no fans in the rooms at all, but it cooled off enough at night to be comfortable. Beds were also hard as rock, but again, what do you expect for how cheap it is?! Recommend it.

The cat would just climbed up to our beds while we're sleeping.. It's annoying, but it's not a big deal.

My fave hostel on my trip :). Such a social environment. It is a ways out of town but worth it! Order burger queen or pizza! Sit in the hammocks for sunset

I enjoyed my stay at Spicypai much because of the people there. It is such an amazing experience to talk with people from all over the world! People staying here are super crazy and spicy, especially at night. If you prefer a quite atmosphere, this is not your perfect option, but if you like communicating and sharing, it is! The location is 5 mins motorcycle/scooter drive from town, which makes it convenient to buy things you need. Facilities here are basic and you really return to the nature.

The male staff yelled at my friends and I several times to go to bed, only to be woken up by other people in the dorm room hooking up later. It's quite a far walk from town, but the communal area is quite cool.

Further out than some hostels, but if you have a bike it's no problem. Security is fine, lockers are small but good enough. Atmosphere and value for money are what makes Spicy Pai what it is. Only stayed one night, but met some great people and had a barbecue at the hostel. Can't knock it! If you stay in Pai, STAY IN SPICY PAI. I returned to stay in a bungalow nearer to the town. It was nice, but you cannot beat the atmosphere at Spicy Pai.

Everything about this hostel was perfect. The staff was extremely accomodating and made me feel like home. It was the perfect escape because it was outside of the city. I am coming back next month

I had a great stay here as its all about the meeting people and atmosphere which you can do here so well with its open air treehouse common area. It's a bit out of town so a bike is a must for day trips and it can get very noisy at night as all the dorms are basically semi open wood and straw/leaf huts so people talking and jamming on guitars can be heard most of the time. But then it is a party hostel and not a yoga retreat...facilities are ok, bathrooms and toilets could be cleaner

Very cool location, a 10 min walk from the many town, so it is convenient but it's quiet and right beside a beautiful rice paddy, You can chill on hammocks and watch the sunset. One of the most communal hostels I've been to so far; great atmosphere and good way to meet awesome people. The dinners and structure of the communal spaces really brings everyone together. Very cool bamboo huts. Had a great time there!

It got a little chilly in the bedrooms throughout the night- maybe thickets duvets needed. I booked my bus to leave Pai to Chiang khong through the reception but the info given was a bit scarce. They told me I would arrive in Chiang Khong at 10:30pm, more like 1:30am. And they didn't inform me my ticket price including a nights stay, breakfast and a lift to the boarder crossing the following morning which I had already arranged and paid separately for.

The atmosphere was more like in a hotel than in a hostel. The staff is very helpful and the cleanliness and the facilities ar just great! It's only a 10min. walk to the city, nightmarkets and everything. Id recommend staying there.

Awesome staff, awesome people, great atmosphere, seriously friendly and fun. The rooms are open plan with wooden bunk beds that are three high, looks like a wooden jungle gym its very fun! It is slightly out of town, only a 5 minute walk which makes it really chilled out. One of the best hostels I have ever stayed in, highly, highly recommended.

I loved spicy pai. First of all, Pai itself is just an amazing place and staying here made it much better. It is a small ride outside the main walking street but you can either walk down or rent a moto for cheap. The vibe is really laid back and there is a common area full of hammocks to just chill out. Usually they have bonfires but all it takes is for one person to start it. All in all, Pai is just an awesome place.

A little cold at night but that's the experience of being in the mountains.... One of those must do hostels!

If you are coming to Pai in the winter (Dec-Jan-Feb) be REALLY prepared for the cold. All the rooms and bathrooms are made of open straw tents. This means that at night times, temperatures when would drop next to 0, you would have to cover all your body to make sure you stay warm and that you couldn't stay too much off the running shower, otherwise you would freeze. BUT, the hole structure is awesome and the atmosphere is very good. Maybe it would be better to stay there during summer times.
