This place will fit you best if you're a 20 years old American. Every night there are parties going on and the atmosphere is very social. If you want your sleep, or you're a little older, you better look for another place. It is pretty clean, the facilites are ok, but the location is a little out of town. Other than that, it's a little bit pricy - 150 for dorms, while in Pai itself you can find a place for 80.

It depends what you want....drinking games and shaking beds then you are right. If you dont like this look for other possibilities or take the bungalows which are just 50 baht more and worth it. Otherwise very sociable place but sometimes annoying drunk lads and ladies. More for younger people who have not sen alkohol before and now really want to try it...

This was the best hostel in SE Asia! The guy who runs it takes such good care of you, super social hostel that you'll meet tons of people, such a good time. The place is open aired huge bamboo dorm rooms, so be ready that you are basically sleeping outside. It's surprisingly comfortable and the character of the place is so nice that you don't mind that it feels a bit like camping. Only down side, location is a ways outside of town. But it's still so worth it, stay here!

Great new addition to the Pai guest house landscape. Feels like you are sleeping and hanging out on a farm... which is a good thing. Beautiful and thoughtful layout to Spicypai Backpackers. Would stay here again, and would definitely recommend it to others passing through Mae Hong Son Province.

Really stylish natural grass house which perfectly match the atmosphere of Pai. You shouldn`t miss it if you want to have a better experience in Pai.

It's quite a party crowd that stays here so expect noises til at least midnight because the dorms are located right next to the hut with the common area.

I stayed in the big mixed dorm and found the whole room positively quirky and charming. Spicy Pai is in a really good location, super easy to get to town. I will absolutely stay here again when I return to Pai. Just have to keep in mind that it gets very cold at night (so bring a sweatshirt!) and it is a bit of a party hostel so it can be a bit noisy. The party usually starts to filter out around 1am and after that, it's a decent night's sleep.

Best place I stayed at in Thailand by far! Great atmosphere everyone gets together at night to drink and party, and go sightseeing during the day (If you're not in an alcohol induced coma). It's a little bit out of town but that's a good thing the surrounding area and the view is AMAZING. Definitely recommend as THE place to stay in Pai, especially if you're a solo traveler. They lock the fridge at midnight but plenty of good places nearby to kick on.

Spicy is a really great hostel! It is a bit out of town which people on a short trip should take into consideration but it is the perfect location for a home from home! Be warned that it is a very social environment and if you're looking for an early night this might not be the hostel for you but if you want a memorable experience in paradise book it... NOW.

The bungalow is a cool idea, but we found the scent of.sewage off-putting and a few leaks during a rainstorm soaked our stuff. It is mainly a social drinking party hostel, located 1 km outside of town. Not far, but there were equal priced nicer hostels with better location.

Really fun place to stay, cool bamboo huts and everyone was very sociable. Just steer clear of the bbqs, 5 people including myself got some pretty nasty food poisining after it :/

Great atmosphere. For those who are looking to chill out and explore the nature and wildlife surrounding the city. Renting a scooter or motorbike is an absolute must because the hostel is about a 20 minute walk from town. They also need to add beanbags or cushions to the common area because your back gets sore from sitting on the floor all night. Awesome staff and the odd bonfire and BBQ really adds to the experience. Stay for 4 nights or more! Easily one of the top hostels in SE Asia

Quite a unique hostel with excellent views, not many people can stay there at once so you get to know everyone well and end up becoming one group, very social hostel. A week was a bit much for me but had some good days there, would definately recommend staying here for a few nights if your in pai although bring earplugs or the cockeral will wake you up too early!

It is not easy to locate this hostel as it is at the far end of a lane (soi) but it is close to the Three Kings Square and museums. It is close to Tha Pae Gate. The dorm spaces are in a big room partitioned by a large piece of curtain. The owner was very helpful and phoned a tut tut for me for the bus station (Arcade). He was willing deposit my backpack for a couple of days before I came back even there might not be space available when I returned.
