Staff was nice and in English. But I didn't like that you can just walk in to a room without any security. Everyone can just grab your stuff if they want to. You do have a small locker though. Showers and toilets are very basic. The best thing though is that is you come here alone. You will meet a lot of other people.

The atmosphere is really great here. If you want to meet people, this is the place you can meet them. It's a lot of fun and everyone was very nice. You can also rent your motorbike here very easily. Don't expect to much of your room though, there is no door and you might have some cats or dogs laying in you bed, but that was totally worth it!

My favorite hostel to date. This is the perfect hostel to meet others, especially solo travelers. It has a laid back vibe and is relaxing. Definitely worth the 15 minute walk to the Main Street (or just rent a motorbike and it's a 2 minute drive). Multiple people moved from a different hostel to Spicy while in Pai. The dorms are open and breezy so no AC was not a problem for me. If you go to Pai., stay here!

What a wonderful place! The vibe, the staff, the quirkiness, everything about this hostel was amazing. I would fully recommend it to any solo traveler trying to meet people.

The hostel is just okay; atmosphere and location in the countryside sells it. Near a nice pool. Walk into Pai town is easy, but i wouldn't have done it alone at night, so make friends (very easy to do here!). outlets sparse for a 20-person dorm, sinks are outside. mosquito nets over each bed (you're basically sleeping outside) but some have holes, which is pretty bad. no AC or fans. lockers are SMALL. my 28L bag, half-emptied, barely squeezed in. had a nice time but don't know if i'd return.

I really enjoyed spending time with all the people who were staying an spicy pai. But the staff is terrible! You barely see them. There is an owner who is semi friendly to the guests and yelling at the Thai staff all day long. Also there are some kids running around. I've seen how their mums (working at the hostel) beat them with stick... You shouldn't stay there if you cannot handle cute kids being beaten and crying for at least an hour after.

SpicyPai had such great reviews, but I believe it's strictly because the people you meet. There are no plugs by your bed. The "free breakfast" was a piece of toast WITHOUT a plate, and I even got scolded for using one! You had to eat your bread directly from the table you were sitting at. It was kind of pricey considering you could get a private bungalow for less. The staff at SpicyPai were useless and didn't like to look up from the TV if you needed help at reception. Won't be back.

Pretty unique experience the old spicypai. It's fun to be able to say that you have slept three stories up in a traditional style wooden hut, wish it had a fan though. You can meet some really great people here. The hostel itself is a bit of a treck out of town. The staff were fine not particularly friendly or helpful but not unhelpful at the same time. Great showers. And if you walk behind the men's showers at night you can see hundreds of fireflies and watch the moonrise it is beautiful!

This hostel is as great as everyone says it is. Awesome atmosphere and location and the nightly bbqs are a huge plus! Wish I could have stayed for longer, but will definitely be staying next time I visit Pai.

Great hostel, such nice dorms and great atmosphere, met loads of people. 15 min walk or 2 minutes scooter ride in to town, showers were a little dirty. Definitely stay here in Pai.

Very social hostel! Very different with the open dorm, which is a great idea but not really practical. And the beds are pretty noisy, it sounds like a heard of elephants arriving when you are sleeping and every one gets home from a night out. But a fun, social place, great if you are traveling alone/single

Loved this hostel! Very social and easy to meet people. If you are looking for a chill atmosphere, this is a great place to stay. However, there is no air conditioning or fan so be prepared for some warm nights!

Great social atmosphere, easy to meet other travellers. Owner is friendly and accommodating, and she makes a mean mash! If your going to Pai you have to spend some time in Spicy, you'll regret it otherwise!

They put on an amazing BBQ party the day after we arrived (apparently they have something like this every week). The overall vibe at Spicy Pai was very laid back and we met a lot of cool people. The hammocks in the common room are the best! The location is good, especially if you rent scooters but make sure to rent from AYA in town for better quality ones. Main complaint would have to be the lack of a fan in the rooms as they get quite hot.

Had a lovely time last year and an even better time this year! Wonderful atmosphere and overall vibes. The staff facilitated a good time, especially Ari. Aon, the chef at Oasis Restaurant made the best breakfast I've had yet. Book for a week at least!

Nice location and great atmosphere. I definitely recommend it.

The hostel has a very good vibe and a party is going on almost every night. So bring your earplugs if you want to sleep early. If possible rent bikes in town as they overcharge at the hostel. The included breakfast is toast and butter but the chef will whip up something great for a decent price.

beautiful scenery, wonderful people, I couldn't be happier with my stay, it was hard for me to leave. I highly recommend staying at spicypai

THE place to stay in Pai! Only downsides was the lack of cleanliness, the bathrooms are in need of some hand soap dispensers desperately.

So much fun! The beds are hard and hot but that's what you get. The hammocks are nice and the staff is friendly. If you rent a scooter it's not far away from anything. The only bar open past 12 pm is a 5 minute walk down the road. The pool is also five minutes away. Have food there that is good but not cheaper than the ton. Would definitely stay here again.
