Although this hostel was a little out of the way, the vibe was amazing!! I would highly recommend this hostel. The staff rocks and it is in an awesome little neighborhood. Best hostel in Thailand! Thanks for the amazing experience, spicythaibackpackers!!

The staff, set-up and operation of the hostel are all great - especially the TV room and trust beer fridge system. Hard to leave at night due to aggressive dogs in area though. It seems to attract too many posh English gap year students who are way 'too cool for school' and annoying as hell. If you want to feel like you're back in the common room fighting over the CD player, this place is for you. If, however, you've had enough of been sneered at by snobby school kids I'd try somewhere else.

Such a great hostel!! The house is super cozy, and you really feel like you\'re at a friends house- with the chilled out living room, big screen tv, and 1000\'s of movies to watch in the evening after a sweaty day of temple hopping. There is hot water, the rooms are spacious, beds clean and comfortable, crisp white sheets and the common areas and bathrooms cleaned to a shine each morning! The breakfast is great- muesli, cereals, toast and jams, fruit and coffee, tea. Do stay!

While the place obviously has a good following with awesome people and staff, it's a good walk out of town... I don't regret staying here at all but if I were to go to Chiang Mai again I think I'd say somewhere more central

kind of its own isolated hangout spot tucked away in the back of a gated community. They do it up large during songran.

Upon entering SpicyThai, I was immediately inducted into a magical maelstrom of awesome. Dougie fed me grapes as I was serenaded nightly by a dozen scantily-clad large-bosomed Thai virgins. For breakfast, I feasted upon frosted doughnuts plucked from the horn of their resident unicorn ridden by a burly Scotsman. Recommended 10/10.

The SpicyThai is THE Hostel to go, when you are in Chiang Mai. I've seen some hostels, but this one, located in a house in a residienital area of Chiang Mai is really amazing. The staff and all the people that go there are really nice and you can make a lot of friends. Also it makes you really feal like home. I would definitely recommend it.

SpicyThai is a home away from home. I have stayed there numerous times and I will keep going back because of the friendly and efficient staff. Noom and Saow are fantastic, they go out of their way to help and organize events. The hostel is a social environment but it is also a breath of fresh air in a back packers life as far as peace and quiet. The hostel is always spotlessly clean and the beds are amazingly comfortable. The location is perfect, not central but easy and cheap to commute.

I thought I would come to Chiang Mai to chill out and relax... Instead I met some amazing people courtesy of this fantastic hostel, we perfect place for a solo traveller. Noom was full of information and knew about every activity and site. I would stay here again if I went back to Chiang Mai.

SpicyThai is a great hostel if you want to meet people and get some travel buddies wherever you go. Be it, to see the local scene or to travel outside of Chiang Mai. Noom does a great job getting the group together and organizes nightly outings. The facilities are fine, clean and plenty. The location isn't quite in the old Chiang Mai city, but it's only a quick mini bus ride away for 20Baht and surrounded by swanky coffee shops, restaurants and boutiques. Would highly recommend this.

This is a really fun hostel. Great people and staff. it was a shame we were only staying 1 night! The common area was really spacious. We stayed in the girls dormitory, which was really nice and clean, with a huge bathroom. I'm not sure about how clean the other dorms are though. The hostel is a bit out of the city, but there are plenty of bars and restaurants around, so it's not really a problem.

It doesn't mater that Spicy Thai is a short trip out of town, its worth it for the people that stay there, the atmosphere and also Noom who is a wealth of knowledge on all of the things that you need to know as a Backpacker.
