The 5 bed bedroom was extremely cold, an additional radiator is required and linked from the bathroom

This was absolutely perfect for our trip. We had a surprise party for my daughter at her halls of residence and then stayed at your hostal. Allowing us to play charades in the sitting room was just a perfect end to our day. Liked the free tea in the morning too. Thank you Dawn Holmes

Hostel right on the main street of St Andrews. Pretty small and quiet yet heaters are a little finicky so not your best bet in winter-- unless you can handle a freezing bedroom. That and the fact that sheets are not washed when one checks out so you have to sleep in "sleep sheets" and then put the dirty sheets over you. Kinda freaks me out, personally, but to each his own. On the upside, the staff is incredible and super friendly. Good value for money, just bring your own sleeping bag...

An all-around great hostel. It's too bad there are no security lockers, but it is good that the staff offers to safe-keep items in the office and what not, offering a particular measure of security, which is good. Not to discourage the fact that, again, this is a very good hostel.

Just wanted to give Sian and the girls a massive thank you for looking after us when we stayed here for New Years Eve. They totally went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. This was the kids first time hostelling and now they're desperate to go stay in a hostel again, I don't think they realise that not all hostels have wii's and loads of games!!!! We had a brilliant and very memorable New Year and that was partly due to Sian and the girls hospitality so once again, thank you!!!

My group and I traveled to St. Andrew's on Christmas day. We expected everything to be closed for bank holiday and were duly worried about food. Fortunately the staff at St. Andrews provided a free Christmas dinner! This went above and beyond my expectations, we experienced a truly unforgettable niche Christmas that we'd be glad to repeat. The hostel was very cozy and warm, it felt like a home away from home. Staff 10/10 Facilities 10/10 Cleanliness 10/10 I highly recommend this Hostel!

The quality of rooms and especially beds could be improved. However, the price for a stay is extremely low so one cannot expect first class quality. So in the end price and hostel are okay. Nevertheless one could increase the prices a bit and then also invest more in the infrastructure, I think everyone would benefit from that. Staff was really nice though!

It's the only budget option in St Andrews and they know it. The no checking in between 2-5pm is just stupid and annoying. They use sleep sheets which is like a sleeping bag made of sheets in order to not have to wash the linen after every guest which is disgusting as you inevitably end up on the fitted sheet and touching the duvet cover through the night which would explain why my room stank. The heating hardly seemed to do anything so you needed to rug up inside. The kitchen was good.

Bring a pillow, the beds that were free in the room I was in didn't have any. If you want a drink of water in the night, bring some in advance as the kitchen closes before 10pm. Also, they give you a sheet to wrap yourself in so expect to sleep in a bed that's got used sheets. Finally bring some earplugs as the student union nearby was playing loud music until the early hours. Other than that, you pay £9 so you get what you pay for.
