the hostel's alarm keeps on ringing all night, disturbing sleep... the heaters in the room are not working, letting guests freeze to death at night........... please don't book this hostel if you are afraid of cold

Not a bad stay, especially considering the location is right next to the train station. The rooms were clean and there is a free breakfast in the morning.

Good service - impressed with the help given to book tours and when I ran into medical trouble. One of the cleaners (Minnie?) organised for my room to be upgraded!

honestly, i am truly amazed at the value for money!! two people in a twin room, centre of Edinburgh, at new year, for £45 each a night... bargain!! considering coming back next year! staff were awesome, so down to earth and friendly... willing to spend time chatting with you. hostel close to everything in the centre! had stayed there before, three years ago but its improved so much (wasn't even bad before!) and my travel buddy and I are definitely coming back! five stars! *****

The front desk check-in is at the bar, I don't know if it can get much better than that.

Not having power points in the rooms or in the bathrooms is very inconvenient. Also shower facilities could be improved as there was nowhere dry to get changed. Food was very good and staff were friendly.

We were there over Christmas and the staff were amazing - we were very well looked after! They put together a Christmas lunch, invited all the guests to join their little family for drinks, gave great information and advice on what to do and see in Edinburgh, showed us a bit of the great nightlife and kept everyone entertained all through the Christmas period. It was absolutely fantastic, especially for us away from family. Special mention to the amazing barman Dan for looking after us so well.

The only thing I would add is the elevator broke just before we had to carry the bags down from the 3rd floor.

Overall, the hostel was nice, but the room needed to be properly cleaned. But otherwise, the hostel was right by the train station and the attached bar was great. The Wi-Fi worked well in the bar, but not in our room.

After staying the two night I had booked a loving it so much I ended up staying an extra 3! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the place was very clean, and I have to make a special mention about a cleaner named Millie, whom was so friendly and considerate towards me. I enjoyed my stay :).

Wasn't aware of a lift until the last night and was staying on the second to top floor.

One of the most good hostels I stayed. The staff is really cool and the hostel is near all good things in Edinburgh. Also, they have one bar in the downstairs opened until 2:00am.

Nice and clean hostel. Breakfast included until 10 am. No kitchen, but the bar has reasonable prices (drinks&food).

You really couldn't pick a better location in Edinburgh! It literally takes seconds to walk to Waverley train station, minutes to shopping, the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle etc. The hostel is great, staff are helpful and nice enough, and the bar and restaurant are good. Only negatives I have are: rooms are a little bit cold at night I was glad I had a sleeping bag, no wifi in rooms, and it would be great if they put a mirror in the dorm (not just bathroom). I would definitely stay here again!
