It was a bit noisy in the hostel as there is a pub underneath. In the room I stayed the wooden floor makes a lot noise whenever some walks in or out. there are of course some pros too. first the hostel is next to the train station, quite close to greenwich town centre but far from the city, food they serve in the pub was nice too. besides you can get 25% off. another good thing about the hostel was its chill out room and lockers.

Hi, We really appreciate your comments, we can really learn a lot from your feedback. We try to keep the noise to a minimum as we are always mindful of the hostel guests and their comfort. We are really lucky to be situated next to the train station and only 10 minutes into the centre from the overground train. We are really glad you enjoyed the chill out room, we work hard to improve this area of the building as we are aware that it is really important for guests to have an area in which they can relax and meet other people. We do hope you choose to stay with us again at some point in the future Thanks St Christopher's Greenwich

Hi, Thankyou for your review, it really helps us to improve on things. Unfortunately we do not have a kitchen as we have limited space and have to be mindful of H&S. There are though as you pointed out some really nice, inexpensive places to eat in Greenwich, including our very own Belushi's bar/restaurant. We do hope you choose to stay with us again in the future. Regards St Christopher's Greenwich

We arrived in the early hours of the morning, confronted with snoring drunk men in our beds. However, they moved us to a different room, where we were then allowed to stay for the rest of the stay, this room was much better. Lots of noise from bar downstairs at weekends, but if you don't mind a party then its not a problem. Strange smell in the hallway, from the pub kitchen. Bathrooms not excessively clean... Staff absolutely lovely!

Hi, Thankyou for your review, they are invaluable to us and help us learn and improve. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We understand that at the weekend there is a little more noise than is usual but we always provide free ear plugs to guests who wish them. Most of our guests tend to come and join the party with us! We have discussed the bathrooms with the housekeeper and have dealt with the situation. We hope you choose to stay with us again in the future Regards St Christopher's Greenwich

This place was kind of dirty: especially the 'chillout room' and the bathrooms. But what it lacked in cleanliness and comfort, it made up for in personality and social opportunities. You can just hang out in the pub all day, which I did because I worked, and talk to people from town or staying in the hostel. Although room nine has a gross moldy wall and it smells moldy too.

Hi, Thankyou for your comments, they are always appreciated. We are in the process of fixing the shower/toilet blocks. We are also working on the roof which will sort out the issues with room 9. We have currently blocked these beds for the time being. We are really glad you enjoyed your stay and the social opportunities it provides. We do hope you choose to stay with us again and hopefully you will find the above issues resolved and to you satisfaction. Regards St Christopher's Greenwich

Nice rooms, beds already made (so not a DIY-show), and staff was very nice and helpful to their abilities. Possibility to chill out in the chill-out room and have a chat with other residents. Only downside, there was no kitchen or any other facilities to prepare food (apart from a kettle to make tea/coffee).

Hi, Thankyou for taking the time to review us, your comments are always helpful and allows to rectify any issues which may have occurred. We are very lucky to have the space for a chill out room and the guests always appreciate having somewhere to meet other travelers/guests. Unfortunately due to health & Safety we are unable to provide a kitchen for guests but the chef's are always happy to warm food up for our guests, should they require! Regards St Christopher's Greenwich

Great place although the floors throughout had a tendency to squeak. Apart from that, it is a great hostel with friendly staff and decent wifi.

I had a good time there, I just wish the facilities were more clean and the bedrooms bigger! The room i was staying had 8 beds and it was very small, not enough room for everybody.

I have been to many, many hostels and this one was disappointingly average. There are no hot showers, there is no kitchen. The staff are mostly disorganised though they are nice enough. The common areas are very boring and there is no vibe. Would not recommend.

We enjoyed our stay, the atmosphere and the pub downstairs was really great, staff was really helpful and the rooms felt secure and clean. But honestly, I think they should do something with the showers. They were so dirty, with mold everywhere. The same counts also for toilets. But it was defiantly great value for money.

There was no toilet paper for two nights of my stay, and the sanitary bins were overflowing for the duration. The hair dryer didn't seem to work in the toilet area, and there were no plugs near any mirrors so couldn't even use my own hair dryer. The bedroom doors had locks which was good but the people in my dorm turned out the lights from 7pm in the evening so I couldn't use the room except in the dark. The bed only had one crappy pillow! The communal room had no wifi signal. For £20 a night.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and security is more than adequate. However there were no facilities for cooking except for a kettle. Overall though it was good value and a pleasant stay

I would definitely stay here again! The staff was friendly, the people in my shared room were nice, and despite my being there for a Friday and Saturday night, the music from the bar below never made it hard to sleep. The bathrooms certainly weren't the cleanest I'd ever seen, and the shower turned off every 20 seconds or so, but for the price it was completely worth it. Also the location literally 10 feet from a National Rail station was very convenient for easy access to central London.

Hi, We really appreciate your comments and thank you for taking the time to review us. We are currently concentrating on our toilets/shower blocks. We do have a great location and to be next to the train station is brilliant. Greenwich is a wonderful area and we have lots of things to do, on the doorstep. We feel very lucky to be able to work in such wonderful surroundings. We do hope you choose us again in the future Regards Michelle

the staff were always friendly and helpful; on halloween they gave us some fake blood after we'd asked where the nearest costume shop might be. get what you pay for with the food. the wifi was patchy, to the point of annoyance. chill out room was a bit dank and you can hear almost everything going on upstairs. don't use a shower stall with a curtain: if its not hung on the door, everything will get wet. water pressure and heat in the showers isn't very consistent. tidy & mostly clean.

It was a bit weird, not the type of hostel I am used to, but in the end that wasn't a problem. The beds were very comfortable and the soundproofing was good (I couldn't hear the bar downstairs during the night). I had a problem with the staff, though. One morning they took away the knives, forks and food for breakfast in front of our eyes, although we were told there were 5 minutes left of breakfast and the hostel toilets were dirty and untaken care of. the cleaning lady didn't seem to struggle

Hi, Thankyou for your review, your comments are appreciated and help us to improve on areas in which our guests feel need more focus. I have mentioned to the staff your comments regarding breakfast so in future they leave all cutlery etc out until 10am when breakfast is over. We have been in discussion with housekeeping regarding the toilets and this is an area in which we are keeping a close eye on. We do hope you choose to stay with us again in the future and hope you find the improvements to your satisfaction. Regards St Christopher's Greenwich

This hostel is in a great location! It is literally right next to the overground & Greenwich is a lovely city not far from downtown London. My biggest complaint would be the showers which are timed for 20 seconds & the water was normally cold. There aren't many toilets & they get dirty quickly. There isn't 24 hour reception, but the rooms are extremely secure. The bar food was good (they give you a 25% discount w\ coupons), but the breakfast was awful. Bring a lock for the in room lockers.

Hi, We appreciate your taking time to review us and all comments are very helpful to us. They allow us to improve on areas in which our guests feel are needed. Unfortunately with so many guests staying in the hostel at any one time, the toilets can become dirty quickly. We are working hard with our housekeeping team to resolve these issues. Greenwich is a very beautiful area, there are many lovely historical sites to visit with a lot of interesting history to soak up. We do hope you visit us again in the future Regards St Christopher's Greenwich

Bear in mind I stayed in mid October, but with the reputation of St Chistopher's through out Europe, I was expecting way more. There weren't many people there and those that were, seemed to be aged long stayers, looking for jobs, or using the hostel as a base. Hostel is an old building so the floor boards creaked really loudly and wake up people in the rooms, the toilet bins had been overflowing for days, the showers are on what feels like a 20 second timer, but hot. Next to the train station.

the bass from the belushi's bar on the weekends, is almost blowing your head away when your lying in bed upstairs.

Hi, We really appreciate your comments and take on board any issues that guests may have. We do noise checks at the weekend to make sure the sound is not too loud. Although we do state on the website that we like to party at the weekend and are always conscious of the level of noise. Regards St Christopher'S Greenwich
