I had come from Canada to London to visit my daughter and then we were headed to Italy...this was the first hostel my daughter stayed in when she came to London last year to work and travel...I personally had never stayed in a hostel but was up for the idea....I was pleasantly surprised...didnt think it would be as clean as it was etc...no complaints!

Shower room is quite uncomfortable but it was okay. Everything was fine.

I felt safe in the Oasis. There's a place to keep your bag (bring a padlock!) and keycards make it easy. Bed was comfortable. Though reception is a short walk, it really only mattered for check-in and check-out. Free breakfast was appreciated! The Oasis itself is really close to the London Bridge tube & train stops, which made getting around really easy, and was also close to some good sight-seeing. If you're there on Saturday, go to the Borough Market!

The location is absolutely perfect in order to stay and visit the city. Besides, the entire staff is so gentle and kind, really patient and outgoing! For this reason, thanks a lot to all of them!

I like the hostel a lot (stayed at the Oasis). Hot water, free breakfast, free tiny shampoo bottles, free wifi, friendly staff! A few things to be aware of if you stay at the Oasis - there's no elevator/lift; it's nearly impossible to find (3 different hostels all down the road from each other, and terrible signage - I met two other completely lost girls while I was searching for the right one!) - and the road noise is impossible, so bring earplugs. Also, ask for the wifi password at reception.

The guy in the reception was very helpful and there was an atmosphere about the hostel that made us want to go out and explore London. Otherwise the room was clean and the other facilities were good as well, though it was a bit confusing since you had to check-in at the Village. Also the breakfast was at a bar next to the Village, so there was a wee bit of walking here and there. But it was manageable! You get what you pay for but would absolutely stay at the Oasis again!

It was a little annoying how we had to walk to get free breakfast and sometimes, the internet went down but other than that, it was a great deal. Oasis is super close to the underground.

The sanitary bins in the toliets were overflowing and not emptied in the week that I stayed. I had my personal towel hanging up on the coat rack and I came back from work and it was no longer there. I went to reception to ask if it had ben accidently taken by housekeeping if they could check and let me know. I never heard back from reception. On Sat night there was a girl in the room that was sleeping in the wrong room and the man on reception did not remove her from the room.

Pros: nice clean beds; very hot showers; affordable. Cons: not enough common space; no quiet spaces at all; internet usually doesn't work in Oasis, you have to walk to the Village for that; the staff are mostly unfriendly (my questions about things going wrong like the door not working and not being given a towel for Oasis were met with hostility or impatience and no rush to help until several requests were made).

The hostel was very nice, the staff friendly and helpful, breakfast was basic but very good given the price, free wireless internet, several different discounts with the beds and bedroom card. I think the only potential difficulty can be walking back and forth from the reception if you need to, but that is only for check in and out, so no problems really. The stay was great, I would most definitely stay here again and recommend it!!!

The duvets were very very dirty When the cleaners came into change them I noticed a lot of sweat stains and period blood on them!!??URGHHHHHHHHHH??!! I ended up buying my own sheet and pillow in the end. Also the showers were filthy with a long build up of ground in bacterial growth, not enough room to change, I had to keep my crocks on when in the shower as it was dirty. and did not smell fresh.

On check in the woman stated that I had to check out by 10am on the day of my departure. Check in and check out is quite far from the Oasis and if you have a large bag this is exhausting. I had to drag my bag after I checked in all the way back to the hostel and then up to the top of the building (about four flights of stairs). I did the same to check out only to find that I didn't have to go to reception to check out. The card just doesn't work to open doors, etc. after 10am!!

Blown away by how bad security was -- I was re-issued room keys 3 times without being asked for ID, my card often took dozens of swipes to get into Oasis so I was standing in a deserted and unsafe alley for several mins while I tried to enter, and at one point a male walked into our room claiming he was staying there even though it was an all-girls hostel. Breakfast facilities were not nearly equipped to handle crowds, laundry was abysmal, cleaning staff were incredibly lazy. Very disappointing.

A good hostel, nothing really above and beyond, but a good place to stay for cheap. My only complaint is the bathroom facilities in Oasis. I'm not sure if the bathrooms at The Village are the same, but at the Oasis the showers are separate from the actual washrooms, and there's ONLY a hot option in the shower. I was happy to have hot water, but it was actually scalding so you could barely get your body under there without it hurting. Also, the sinks are too tiny!
