We stayed in the 8 bed female dorm at Oasis. Overall a very good experience. Was a bit pricey but for London that's to be expected! Our key cards both stopped working on our second to last day, and still wouldn't work after we walked down the road to the reception and back to the room which was frustrating. Breakfast wasn't anything to write home about but it was free which is always the main thing hey! The hostel was clean and staff were very friendly and the location was simply unbeatable.

Love that is so close to the tube station. Lovely breakfast. Hope to have more powerpoints in the room, the inconvenience is the checking in over at The Village.
Nice room had a little table and chairs and coat rack I was in 4 person room right on street so very loud with window open. Under bed lockers avail and free towel to use.
Before checking in, the staff who explain rules was kindful. But, when I checked in ,there was a unkindful staff. I couldn't understand well, she said " Can't you speak English?" So I said please say once again slowly. Then she looked angry and search for something through computer.A Printer didn't working, she beated the printer with annoy. I think If a guest couldn't understand, they do reception with favor. And the bed was dirty.Sewing was loose and there was BEDBUG!! I was bitten by bedbug.
Overall excellent, efficient and well thought out facilities serving a busy large hostel. Water is hot, rooms are clean and everything runs smoothly. Front desk staff still manage to be lovely despite how busy it is. The only niggle would be that breakfast at St Christopher's Inn is not worth attending. I understand the Inn using cheap bulk products but it also ends too early (9am) and has no option to upgrade e.g. to a decent coffee or a boiled egg
My only disappointment were food in your pub
I tried to check in a night early- they didn't have a bed available- that was ok- however when I went to the address- I was then redirected via a sign to a different hostel to check in- this hostel was in a state of demolition- literally. After finding myself a different hostel, and subsequently cancelling my stay at St Christophers- I was charged for my first night DESPITE paying cancellation insurance. When I emailed to question this I got no reply.
As a female only hostel, it felt quite safe and the other guests tend to keep quite clean. According to a roomate, the 8 bed dorm was better than the 6 bed because the room itself was larger. Super close to the train station that goes to and from the airport and also close to the underground, although you will probably need to make some transfers to get to the main attractions. Downside is the reception & bar is a few blocks away and you may need to hike up some stairs. Didn't bother us though.
I have to be honest, there was a drug bust on the same alley/side street that the women's hostel is, so to have 20 police officers surrounding the area at night was a bit daunting. The other side is on the high street, so you hear allsorts until all hours of the morning. Plus a pair of Russian girls decided to come stumbling in at 4 am and woke everyone. Overall, I doubt anyone in the room got any sleep. I do wish the showers, toilers were a bit cleaner. Happy there were plenty of showers though
My fifth time in the hostel so what can I say about it? Location is very good, the underground is next to it and it's not a problem to walk 5 minutes to the other hostel for breakfast and reception. The rooms are big and have lockers and are clean and so are the toilets and showers. What I miss is a kitchen to cook but I know when I'll go back to London I'll book the same hostel.
Did not get the best feeling from the staff, especially the female desk worker. Everyone else in London seemed extra friendly except the hostel workers.
Good location, friendly staff, no lift, toilets may need to be cleaned a little more.
The counter staff gave us wrong keys, so we have to go to the village again. However he didn't say anything like sorry
Really helpful and friendly staff. Great location. The place is great for what you pay and at that location.
The Hostel is in a good location, in front of a subway station. But, there's not security. You have the card to unlock the doors, to access the rooms. About the cleaning, the corridors and other areas were cleaned, but the bathroom, the toilet needs some improvements.
excellent! really clean. though it's alittle bit unconvenient to eat breakfast. but free breakfast is really good value!!
Clean and great location. Unfortunate that reception, common room and breakfast was in a different building.
The Inn and Village are both party hostels with pubs in the ground floor. The all-female Oasis lives up to its name - pretty peaceful. I cannot say enough about the kindness and thoughtfulness of the staff. I got sick and ended in the hospital while I was there, and they went out of their way, refunding me the nights I was hospitalized (without my asking for it), watching after my luggage, making sure I was OK - they were great. I highly commend them.
The only setback was to have to carry a heavy luggage up to the highest floor in summer!:(

oasis was a wonderful place to stay. extremely safe and secure. staff all very friendly. only problem was there was no temperature option in the showers so in the warm weather they were a bit too hot, but otherwise it was an amazing stay :)
