Hostel room was broken into from outside and I had my camera stolen from my room while I was sleeping at night. Limited charging points in room and ours was right beside the window which was pushed open to steal items. Downstairs always smelt of smoke while eating breakfast...

We would like to apologise for the unfortunate incident that happened with regards to the broken catch on the window. This was repaired the very next day. We will contact you directly to explain the full extent of how this has been investigated and followed up and to see if we can be of any further assistance.

What fun! We had a room above a noisy nightclub at first, with a huge bathroom and trippy wallpaper; the friendly staff happily moved us to a quieter one at our request, and what a room it was! Sponsored by Absolute Danny I assume, complete with a four poster bed, velvet cushioned headboard and scandalous artwork! We loved it! The bathroom was small but concise, and the view was of alleys lit up in red. We had a great time in Amsterdam, and were comfortable at your hostel. Many thanks.

It is a good hostel, right in the red light district, so expected all kind of persons on the street, but it's not unsafe. The hostel is very noisy, the staff was helpful when asked something. The towels were changed everyday, and the breakfast was wonderful. PS: a laptop was stolen in a room nearby, some broke the padlocks of the locker. The staff was helpful in this case, as I was told, but it's important to report this kind of incidents. In general, good hostel, would stay there again

Really cool Hostel! We had a private room with bathroom, perfectly clean. The only bad thing was the night club downstairs, we wanted to sleep early one night, impossible with the really really loud bass of the club till 3 am... But... who want to sleep early in amsterdam??!! Staff really friendly and helpful!!!Free breakfast. Free wifi even in the room! The bar downstair is really good and the food too! We'll definitely go back here, and we recommend it to everyone!

Everything was great, except for the fact that there was no wifi in our room.

The fact that the bathrooms are inside the rooms is a downside specially if you have jetlag, then you'll wake up at 3 am in the morning and if you want to take a shower you'll make noise and wake the other guests in the room. Except for that, everthing was top notch.

The best location in town. 2 minutes from red light and dam square, 5 minutes from train station. 10 minutes from museum. The rooms are clean and with their own bathroom. They have too a nice bar and good prices for food and drink. Only downside is the smoking room which is not very big and often full. For me the best hostel in Amsterdam (though the bulldog and the flying pig downtown are too a good choice for backpackers).

Good place to stay as very close to main sights but rather expensive. Discount on food and drinks is awesome though! Breakfast crew in the bar were good people, fun place. Pretty sure they over charged us for the last night there - hope to resolve that soon

They serve nice breakfast. The location is just next to the red light distract. very near from the sight seeing spots and there were no problem with touring with out a car or public transportation in usual. The hostel offered ear plugs and it was really useful. The noise from hostel was not a problem but the room where i stayed couldn't block the sound form outside. They were good at forbidding "drunken" and it made me feel secured.

Great place to stay right in the middle of Amsterdam. Could not fault the St Christopher's experience, with awesome food and cheap drinks downstairs at the bar. Room was clean and spacious.

My friends and I had reserved a private 8 bed ensuit dorm, but we were only 7. As the website requested, I marked we were 7 people, so the hostel staff could prepare the room for 7 people only. The problem was that the hostel booked another person in the bed that was "free" in our room. After arguing a lot, we got what we wanted. The bathroom of the room had no door, but this problem was fixed quickly. Breakfast was very good, and the hostel is in the best location possible.

Great location, great staff, food was delicious (we tried almost everything on the menu) and good value for money, rooms are clean and tidy and had a tv and our own bathroom/toilet/towels provided. Great hostel all round, very impressed, not a bad thing to say about it!! Had the best time and didn't want to leave, will definitely be back and have recommended to our friends in australia. Made our amsterdam experience 100 times better. Staff were real friendly and fun to be around.

The hostel is really cool, the position is perfect, because you're 5 minutes walk from the central station, and the De Wallen and Dam square are right near to you. In each room you have bathroom with shower, and a locker for each guest that you can close using a padlock. The staff is really helpful and speaks a good english. The bar next to the hostel is really cute, and you get discount for food and drink if you're staying at the hostel.

In 5 years of traveling I have not left one bad review, but I have to say I did NOT like this hostel nor would I recommend it. It's very loud because the bar is right underneath, there are no common rooms to meet other travelers except the bar/beer garden but those are accessible by general public as well so anyone can walk in, the facilities need renewing. I tried to have a shower and the whole bathroom was under water. The staff wasn't very helpful. Big hostel, no character.
