The fact that the bathrooms are inside the rooms is a downside specially if you have jetlag, then you'll wake up at 3 am in the morning and if you want to take a shower you'll make noise and wake the other guests in the room. Except for that, everthing was top notch.

They serve nice breakfast. The location is just next to the red light distract. very near from the sight seeing spots and there were no problem with touring with out a car or public transportation in usual. The hostel offered ear plugs and it was really useful. The noise from hostel was not a problem but the room where i stayed couldn't block the sound form outside. They were good at forbidding "drunken" and it made me feel secured.

Good place to stay as very close to main sights but rather expensive. Discount on food and drinks is awesome though! Breakfast crew in the bar were good people, fun place. Pretty sure they over charged us for the last night there - hope to resolve that soon

The best location in town. 2 minutes from red light and dam square, 5 minutes from train station. 10 minutes from museum. The rooms are clean and with their own bathroom. They have too a nice bar and good prices for food and drink. Only downside is the smoking room which is not very big and often full. For me the best hostel in Amsterdam (though the bulldog and the flying pig downtown are too a good choice for backpackers).

Great place to stay right in the middle of Amsterdam. Could not fault the St Christopher's experience, with awesome food and cheap drinks downstairs at the bar. Room was clean and spacious.

The hostel is really cool, the position is perfect, because you're 5 minutes walk from the central station, and the De Wallen and Dam square are right near to you. In each room you have bathroom with shower, and a locker for each guest that you can close using a padlock. The staff is really helpful and speaks a good english. The bar next to the hostel is really cute, and you get discount for food and drink if you're staying at the hostel.

Great location, great staff, food was delicious (we tried almost everything on the menu) and good value for money, rooms are clean and tidy and had a tv and our own bathroom/toilet/towels provided. Great hostel all round, very impressed, not a bad thing to say about it!! Had the best time and didn't want to leave, will definitely be back and have recommended to our friends in australia. Made our amsterdam experience 100 times better. Staff were real friendly and fun to be around.

My friends and I had reserved a private 8 bed ensuit dorm, but we were only 7. As the website requested, I marked we were 7 people, so the hostel staff could prepare the room for 7 people only. The problem was that the hostel booked another person in the bed that was "free" in our room. After arguing a lot, we got what we wanted. The bathroom of the room had no door, but this problem was fixed quickly. Breakfast was very good, and the hostel is in the best location possible.

In 5 years of traveling I have not left one bad review, but I have to say I did NOT like this hostel nor would I recommend it. It's very loud because the bar is right underneath, there are no common rooms to meet other travelers except the bar/beer garden but those are accessible by general public as well so anyone can walk in, the facilities need renewing. I tried to have a shower and the whole bathroom was under water. The staff wasn't very helpful. Big hostel, no character.

The room was tiny! And overpriced. But the location is fantastic, right in the red light district, and the downstairs bar always has a good vibe, & 25% of meals!! Breakfast was good but could of been improved by the addition of a toaster!

Great location, helpful staff, extremely safe places, and there is a fantastic bar at ground floor. Just great! Yet I arrive on New Year's Day, so the price was actually doubled (over 40 Euros per night). This is probably the only downside. Ah, another minor issue is that the reception is too small, so do expect to wait longer when you want to ask any questions.

Overall a great hostel; however, it was a bit pricey. We also did stay during New Years so I'm sure that's why. Breakfast was decent, room was cleaned daily, downstairs bar was always exciting and had pretty good food and drink specials. Staff was friendly. Location was great-right near red light district and Dam Square. You have to pay to store your luggage, which was uncommon at most of the other hostels I've stayed at. Other than that, a nice place to stay.

The hostel's club Winston was open far later than the advertised 3am time. It was so loud that my entire room vibrated from the noise. Items in the bathroom were literally falling off the shelves!! I will never stay here again nor will I recommend it to my friends.

This hostel was amazing, great food thats discounted for its guests, smoking area for the stoners (which does get full quickly) & is in such a good location with coffee shops, souviner & food shops literally 100 meters max away...I'm planning to go again in March with more friends & definitely looking to stay here again..the music isn't as bad as some drama queens make out but they give you free ear plugs anyway..only negative here is smoking room area could be bigger. Everything else - amazing

I founded really disappointing that one has to pay for the locker service, when one arrives before the check in time o leaves later. I paid 4€ the day I arrived and 4€ more the day I left, when I have stayed in many hostels that offer a room for your luggage for free. The rooms were also quite noisy.
