Tired and old rooms, the showers smelled of mould/damp, no kitchen facilities, toaster and microwave were in the corridor. on the plus side we did have a tv.

Good location, some of the staff were great. Wifi was not so good. Room was clean and basic. Bathrooms were okay. Showers could be updated or something. Overall comfortable stay. Not a social hostel though.

The location of this hostel is perfect, within a minutes walk to the main downtown shopping area and really close to other tourist attractions. The staff were very helpful and able to answer any questions we had about ways of getting around the city or what things we should do on a short visit. The cleanliness was fine, I thought the showers could have been a little more clean but they were useable. I thought it was good value for money because of the location and the rooms were really nice.

I had read up about St. Clair before I went and a few comments spoke down about security. In turn I decided not to bring any electronics with me just clothes and personal hygiene kit. As we were checking in an employee was listening to a Swedish couple complain about a stolen laptop! Good news though after coming back from a walk around Vancouver the local police had two guests in cuffs for the theft of 2 laptops. Anywhere you go you must be responsible for your items. I highly recommend here!!

Great location for seeing all of Vancouver. Nice big building with lots of character. Though for such a large hostel reception hours are bit limited (9am to 8pm?). Door lock to our room wasn't very secure, hand santizers in toilets were always empty (no sinks in toilets for hand wash), also showers not cleaned (same rubbish on floor 3 days later). Wifi was very poor, had to sit in corridor to get a very weak signal. Corridor stunk of hash the whole stay. No cooking facilities.

i arrived and not was available to open door. if you have no cellphone you would be left out in the cold, because no one would open the door for you unless you call by PHONE. internet not reliable. staff not so friendly. bathroom hardly ever cleaned. room hardly ever cleaned. location is perfect!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights in April 2012 and thought it was a great place. The location as excellent, right near the downtown and not too far from some great pubs in the Gastown. The room was a good size double and not very noisy even though on a main street. The only downside was that there was no real kitchen, so you pretty much have to eat out every night. We would definitely stay again.

It was a lovely place to stay, though i didn\'t spend much time there. I was out and about more than i was sleeping. I would stay again.

Bon rapport qualité prix! Ce n\'est le grand luxe mais il y a tout, le personnel est cool et il est très bien placé, en plein Downtown!

They had lost my booking and very reluctantly sorted out a bed for me. The first night I was there I had stuff stolen from my bag. Management didn't care when I told them. The next night the police were there arresting a couple who were fighting upstairs. Not the highlight of my trip.

If you look for a place in the heart of Vancouver Downtown, Walking Distance to Skytrain and Bus, Hot and clean showers, working Heater in the Room and also a sink, thats your place. There was even a Watermaker and microwave to heat up small things and Internet, but you are in the middel of the town, there is chaep and good food anywhere and the public libary with free internet is just around the corner. For me definitley value for money.
