I was in a room with two people in it, which was fine. If there had been FOUR people it would have been impossible to move.....all in all the experience was very good.

This hostel was the best (but also the most expensive) of our voyage. Thankfully, the staff spoke very good English since we can not speak portuguese. There are a lot of buses nearby and an Underground Station. Contrary to other hostels, there are enough and clean bathrooms.

No tiene carácter, es muy frio, la ubicación buena cerca de Metró Botafogo y acceso a playas, desayuno bueno, pero no tiene ambiente amical en general y actividades de compartir, es como ambiente frio como Hotel, la gente ni se llega a integrar. Por lo demás bien, Tonny de Lima,

Nice Hostel, was there in Low Season so it was not that busy, a bit too far from Ipanema, traveling during Traffic can be frustrating to get there. Neighbourhood is safe but who is looking for Bars or Party should look for another hostel. There are few Bars where Locals go, nice and busy. Staff is extremely friendly. You have kitchen and a nice free rooftop. Cleaning is in every Hostel a lack, staff is not cleaning exactly, toilets smell a bit. All in all a good choice!

Good location. If you want have good breakfast, don't over sleep. You better go before 9:00am or you have small left over. Room is clean but bit dark eavn has window.

Everything great except for the cleanliness of the bathroom.

I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Standfast Hostel. The hostel is in a central area of RIo, and it makes getting around the city very easy, especially when there are back-to-back buses on each street corner. As far as safety is concerned, I found Botafogo to be safe and quiet. There are stores and street vendors around the neighborhood, and the Metro Rio is a short walk away. No matter what time of day it is, there is always someone at the front desk.

It was my 1st hostel in Rio and it was ok. It is convenient and well run, but I think it lacks character. Breakfast is not very nice.

We stayed in the hostel for 3 nights and did a lot of sightseeing. Its a good and safe place to visit the most famous spots of 0rio. The Staff was very, very friendly and helpful. The Room was okay (double bed room) but nothing special. All and all we would recomend this hostel :)

Our stay in this hostel was quiet the best since a longe time ;) the personal is so friendly and the rooms was great and very clean!!! The metro is close to the hostel and hole Botafogo ist very safe. When we come back to Rio– and we WILL ;) – we definetly come back to the Stand Fast Hostel!

Second time that I'm staying here! Amazing staff, makes you feel like you're home! The AC in the rooms keep you cool during the hot nights in Rio!

the owner and is her daughter are not friendly. they always put the music very loud at 7 and this is unnegotiable with them. the staff are helpful. the food sometimes missing from the refrigerator even it is tagged.

OK, let,s get the bad out the way first. Stayed 4 days during the carnival, ahhh. No wi-fi or computer, fans not working downstairs, 2nd floor shower room constantly flooded, room/cell 8 4 people cramed into a box room and the bunk beds ready to calapse, creaking and moving with the slightest movement, was not good, sorry guys. BUT on my return to Rio I gave Stand fast another try and stayed in room 6, the whole experience was much better.

Good hostel with very good and safe location, close to bars and Copacabana beach. Recommended!

Location was great, you can take omnibus to all important places. Room and bathroom were not that clean, breakfast was avarage. The AC was just on between 22-10h, which made the rooms very hot and there was next to nothing space for your things.staff was nice, but not very good informed.

Stand Fast is undersold online (for once). It's super clean and the rooms (though small) are very sweet. Staff are fun and general vibe is good. Also in a nice safe area near a metro station...

We had a private room. the air con was a waste of electricity. it only came on in the middle of the nigth when we didnt need it. asked the guy to change but didnt bother to help. It was hotter inside the room than outside which was ridiculous! beds were all stained and feral. room was so small couldnt fit anything in there. was out the back squished in a corner next to the toilets. very loud and banging all the time for the bottles in the bin.

One major stuff up with the rooms but it was sorted out eventually, otherwise excellent hostel with fun, helpful staff. Good breakfast!

This was a very nice hostel. The staff was very very helpful and always had good suggestions for all questions we had. The location is really close to the Metro station, making it very easy to explore the city. We felt very welcome here.

Staff was super helpful and friendly! Great location--only 3 blocks from the metro.
