About Star Hotel Corowa
The Star is a historic hotel situated in the main street of Corowa, New South Wales. Just 10 minutes from Rutherglen, 53kms from Albury (40 minute drive) and only a 3 ½ hour drive from Melbourne, Corowa is a beautiful town on the banks of the Murray River, very close to some of the best wineries in Australia (and quite possibly the world).
Built in 1870 the Star Hotel has been restored and refurbished yet has maintained some of the charm of the era. Situated above the hotel bar, there are a variety of rooms on offer including double, twin or triple share. Each room has tea/coffee making facilities, most rooms have a TV and there is a communal fridge is at the end of the hall. There are shared bathroom facilities at the end of the hall (female and male).
There is a launderette just 100 meters down the street from the hotel. A light breakfast (cereal and toast) is included in the room rate. Meals are available at very reasonable prices and a BBQ is available for all guests to use in the beer garden or on the balcony.
The Star Hotel has two bars, a pool table, dartboard, jukebox, gaming machines for entertainment; often live bands play. There are many events during the year in Corowa, such as the Federation Festival in January, Billycart (soapbox) races at Easter and several picnic races throughout the year
