I cannot speak highly enough about this hotel. The staff are the most amazing friendly, helpful and beautiful people. We stayed with Stars for a week and got to know all of the staff there. We even went on an excursion to the Perfume Pergoda with them, and were honoured to sit down for a traditional meal with them afterwards!!! Great location, all the facilities you need, with a service experience that goes far above and beyond!!! Thank you again Pham Thanh, Ngoc Anh, and the rest of the team!

The best hotel we have stayed in during more than 5 months of traveling around the world, of which 2 months have been spent in SE Asia. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, with a great location in the Old Quarter of Hanoi!

Stars Hotel made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived at Hanoi. I had arrived on the overnight train so was tired and hungry, Tom and the Manager Lan shared their lunch with me. The room was clean and comfortable and represented good value for money. Breakfast menu is ok and unlimited tea and coffee is provided throught the day. I booked a 3 day tour of Halong and Cat Ba through the hotel which was relaxed and easy going. I had a great stay here and I would reccomend this place.

The breakfast was a bit samey. Egg, egg, egg. But the stuff was very helpful. The hotel sent an pickupsrvice to the airport (to escape the cheater taxi drivers) and oranized the trip to halong bay.

The hotel staff especially Lan is the friendliest staff you can imagine. They arranged us a honeymoon trip to Halong Bay which was just beautiful.Coming back to the hotel always felt like coming back home.Very warm and comfortable atmosphere mainly because of Lan.We'll never forget our stay here.I have never felt so good in a hostel(and I have seen more than 70).Double rooms are comfortable, not noisy(hard to find in Hanoi)and the whole complex is very safe.

A bit of renovation to the walls and decor and it would look really good.

We stayed here for a little over a week. Situated a short 10 minute walk to Hoan Kiem lake and other attractions, the road itself is a quick lesson in how roads work in SE Asia! Zum (zoom?) on reception was fantastic and we booked excursions to halong bay and Sapa through him.

I just can't say enough about the staff at this guesthouse who were exceptional. They were always smiling and willing to help with tours, etc. After returning from Sapa and Halong Bay which we booked through them, they always asked how the trip went and seemed genuinely interested. Both tours were very well organized and good value. We didn't have to lift a finger. The rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable with all the latest amenities.

A cheap and cheerful hostel with plenty of character. It was also nice to have cable TV and a nice big bed if I wanted to retreat from the busy-ness outside. It's an old building, so there were the usual smells that come with that, but it generally felt clean and comfortable.

The pictures on hostel world are not a good indication of the hotel. The room was dirty as was the bathroom. On the plus side the staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble.

What a difference a couple of doors down makes, compared to our other Hanoi stay this was very good value for money. The double room came with a big bathroom, a balcony, freshly painted walls and a HD tv! You get a selection of simple breakfasts, but unfortunately the coffee is cheap instant stuff not great when you've come from the south. But head over the road to cafe 27 for your vietnamese coffee hit! Upgrade the glass to shut out the early morning sellers music and it'll be perfect!

I had a pleasant stay there. The staff were very nice and knew the area well. The hotel is located in the center area and is very convenient to walk to most of the attractions in Hanoi. The room was clean and well prepared. The only minor negative thing I found is that the hot water ran out pretty quickly (maybe it was just me taking a long shower), like after 10' of using. Also the shower curtain didn't cover the whole bathtub, so some water may spill over the floor, but not that much though.

We really enjoyed our stay here, the hostel is in a fantastic location to explore Hanoi and particularly the old quarter. The staff here were very helpful and friendly. They let us check in early when we arrived after a overnight train for some much needed sleep. They also organised a 3 day 2 nights trip to Ha Long Bay which was good value and a great experience.

Very good service and lovely rooms, however the transport we arranged to Cat Ba island with the staff was really not what we were looking for. Ended up on a cruise of Halong bay and dropped at the wrong end of the island. Probably just due to miscommunication but certainly be very careful when choosing how you visit the bay.
