The room and facilities are clean and v basic, but as it was the cheapest place we could find, it's what we expected! What I loved was the staff! They gave us great advice and never tried to push a tour on us. We wanted to go to mt kinabalu and the guy recommend a scooter rental place to us, as it would be cheaper than the bus for two people! We asked about rafting and he v honestly said it was the wrong time of year and it would be a waste of money!

Unclean. Shower is basically a drip. No powers sockets in the room.

Pretty much get what you pay for, good location and the staff are helpful and friendly, but regularly no toilet roll in the toilets; and smoking areas directly outside the rooms on each floor mean the smoke comes in through the windows & door, plus get people congregating there on a night which can be loud and at any hours. Also information on the walls is wrong! We were told not to book ahead for a bus to Sepilok, but upon getting a taxi to the station found next bus full and at different times

This hostel is very basic but is great value for money! we stayed here for a few days and returned later because we were satisfied with the service. Rooms are a bit shabby, showers aren't very powerful and there's never any toilet paper, but can't really complain with the price we paid.

good things central location right in the cultural heart of KK. friendly staff. easily available parking space behind the hostel. bad things. room 305 (air cond room) did NOT have a power socket for quite some time. u can't charge your gadgets safely unless if you can be at the common area with your stuff. water pressure at the shower is quite poor. no wifi reception at the third floor.

I personally thing this place is value for money and located at a very strategic location. Will definitely come again if we are on low budget travelling.
