ok so...this is like the Walmart of Hostels. Not for the solo rugged party traveler. this is for groups of girls and people that don't really want to party and go to the Red Light every Night. its so big its hard to get to know people. but the facilities are super clean, good wifi everywhere. nice showers/bathrooms. good food & bar. staff are nice. but it just doesn't have a lot of character. its safe though and its across the street from Vondelpark . great for families.
Very nice hostel, the staff is very friendly, good location
Very professional hostel. Very clean, everything was working as if it were new. And the location was great. Just the price was a bit expensive.
The staff were very friendly during our stay & recommend hiring the bikes & exploring Vondelpark. Did not like the 6 bed room, it was very stuffy and only had one window right up the top which we left open the entire time. No fan or air con in the room. WiFi also did not work in the rooms! Had to pay to store luggage however wasn't too exp. The breakfast line was really long and nearly missed out however it was quite nice. Felt like a camping ground as so busy lots of children around the place.
love it! abit expensive but the location, rooms, and staff are great!
Location is right next to a very nice park, but a 15-20 min walk from the red light district. We stayed in a 20 bed dorm but it was very spacious. Everyone has their own locker. Staff are very helpful. Not much of a party atmosphere, would recommend staying somewhere else if you want to meet other partygoers.
My stay was very average. The hostel was very clean and was in a beautiful location. Also the lockers and breakfast were good. However hostels in amsterdam are very expensive and the staff were rude and refused to help us beyond check in. Their wifi had issues that prevented us from booking our travel tickets yet they didn't care and complained. We had issues with our security card and they openly treated us with contempt, amused with our problems. No kitchen either. Do not reccommend.
One of the largest hostels I've stayed in. Interesting mix of ages with student travelers to families. Having a bathroom with toilet and shower in the room was convenient without having to share beyond the room. Breakfasts included a great variety of food, loved the coffee machine.
Loved my stay here. If I ever need a hostel in Amsterdam again, or need to recommend one, Stayokay is the place. Comfortable, nice commons area, nice bar with good happy hour, breakfast and more. Can't go wrong.
Good hostel, location is excellent for everything from the museums to the coffee shops.

Staff spoke many different languages, impressive. Good security. Very dorm like. Had a younger (like 14-17 year old) feel. Decent location, 20 minute walk from Red Light. Laundry facilities good.
If you are looking for a break from the high activity of the red light district, this location is perfect. Entrance is off the vondelpark path, and it is quiet in the morning. Good bar. More of a younger crowd; good for ages 18-30. The multi bed dorm rooms kind of remind me of an old hospital or orphanage. Also its a 10 min walk from any coffee shops. Excellent location if you are going to see a concert at the Paradiso. Staff was very nice and helpful. Also very safe with security in and out.
the place feels so industrial kids running around everywhere, no wifi in the rooms, the staff was not friendly, there was not atmosphere allowing you to really meet fellow travels the bar was terrible
The receptionists were sincere, helpful. polite. pleasant. The breakfasts were excellent, generous, varied. Not many books for trade on the shelf but this is up to the guests...
Comfortable, good breakfast, good attention, excellent atmosphere!!! Definitely recommended!
It depends on the Kind of traveller you are, but thats definetely too expensive in my opinion. Breakfast excellent, eat all you can get. The bar does not get crowded at all, even on happy hours. The hostel is big and does not has the atmosphere of a hostel...
Right between Vondelpark and Leidseplein, which is great for going to either area. Breakfast is also amazing!
