There is no Lounge so the People have to sitt in the hall. There are two tiny tables where u can eat. Not enough for all, some People have to sit on the hall again. In the third floor the toiletts don't have a door to the main hall. There is no reception so the People who live there just do what they want nobody take care. The rooms and the Location are good.
The Staff are very helpful but there is no reception at this hostel and we put up with drunk English yelling drinking singing in till well past 12am room had no curtain so the lights from stairs made room really bright all night so all in all a very poor nights sleep and it was only a mid week night think they need someone there to kick out people when the are drunk we payed to sleep there and that was the one thing we couldn't do
Good location, rooms were small but decent and clean, bathroom facilities were also clean. The only downfall for me was the inconvenience of having to walk to a different location for check-in and check-out. Although it's only a few minutes away, it's quite a pain with luggage and means if you want to get a taxi from your previous accommodation to the hostel, you would have to either make a taxi wait for you to check-in or hail a second one after check-in. Overall, good value for money.
Strattons is located about five minutes walk from World Square Hostel, but they are owned by the same company and share a reception desk. The rooms are cheaper than at World Square, but of equal quality (except perhaps with regard to security - Strattons does not have lockers in the rooms). The hostel is centrally located, and I have stayed here several times. It is my go-to hostel for short stays in Sydney.
