Really great hostel. I thoroughly loved my stay and would say that stray cat is one of my favourite hostels in Europe. The staff are super friendly, beds are comfortable and facilities - while not the whiz bang that you get in the big chain hostels were more than enough! Really great breakfast - and I mean that!! Also, it is in a really great location - close proximity to taxim square as well as public transport! I would definitely recommend and stay again.

The rooms are clean and big. Internet is just available downstairs and not in the rooms. The moment you leave the room you can smell smoke and the cats (which also eat from the breackfast table).

Dear We apologize that we could not meet your expectations , this is very nice of you to tell nice words about rooms and cleanliness. Stray Cat Hostel is not a proper place for travelers who dislike kittens, 3 kittens and mama cat is only stays in common areas . If the incidence you tell happened during breakfast , this is just a mistake that we will be much more careful about it. During breakfast kittens stays in backyard not in the lounge where breakfast is served. " The Stray Cat Hostel has taken Istanbul’s unofficial mascot as its spirit animal and inspiration. The walls of the common areas are decorated with cat-themed art, and the seating in common areas is dominated by, as you guess it, cats." So the hostel is not for a traveler who does not like cats, We wish you were reading our description before booking , and we believe kittens a very important part of our laid back homely style. Thank you for your comment again and we wish you happy new travels and new beginnings.

Staff is extremely friendly!! Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. It's a bit of a walk up a hill to the shopping and club area but it was never a problem for us. I would definitely stay here again!

Great Hostel, near from taksim square, easy to go everywhere. Good breakfast! Staff was REALLY helpful and friend and always asking if i need something so, thats cool! People all-over the world going there, was really great to connect with different cultures! The bad thing was that the wi-fi only can be used near from the common room so, in my bedroom i never could use the wi fi... but thats ok for me!

Our room (double twin private) was ok. The room should have had more places to your coats and stuff, for example couple hangers and hooks in the wall and shelves would have been nice. Staying there for 10 days, the floor was full of stuff in the end. Shared bathroom was ok, water pressure wasn´t always great but never had to leave dirty! Cats did their own personal feeling in the place, people with fancy noses maybe should not go here. Basement with smokig possibility was pretty uglyish but ok.

Dear, We are very sorry that your stay in our property was not satisfactory enough and we could not meet your expectations. We wanted to inform you that we do not enter private rooms to clean without guest request during their stay , most probably we were not informative enough when you checked in about this issue. We are going to be more careful about that. Happy new travels and new beginnings.

The staff were very nice and cared, breakfast was great, the cats were cute, there was a feeling of community, there was a kitchen available and the staff gave us a map and were eager to offer suggestions of things to see and places to go. It was a little hard to find and not where google maps said it was.

The room I stayed in had the appearance of a prison cell. It was very small, cold, with the heater making odd clunking sounds throughout the night. The bathroom on our level had no soap and to flush the toilet you had to hold in down for 30 seconds. My girlfriend and I saw some of the other rooms, one other private, and a dorm, and they looked much, much nicer than ours so maybe we just got unlucky. The location is good, and it is cheap. Breakfast is OK.

The location of the hostel is quite good, could be better though. Everything else was quite disappointing, I would not stay there again. The room was very dirty, didnt feel welcoming at all. The worst was that the hostel didnt even provide blanckets and we came there in the winter even tough their information says clearly that you should please not bring a sleeping bag because everything is there. The bedsheets were dirty too, another reason why I would have clearly preferred my sleeping bag.

Dear, We are sorry for your experience in our hostel that was not satisfactory enough and we could not fit with your standards . It is obvious that the expectation our hostel raises on the website and hostelworld left you disappointed. As a matter of fact we have 24 hours heating, and we provide blankets , it was our mistake you not to have in your room, we wish you were asking us anytime about any problem you met in the hostel that we could be more pro active to solve it immediately. Happy new travels and new beginnings.

Only complaint about this place is that if your room is on the upper floors, you won't have access to the internet which got little annoying at times. Overall though small and cozy and had a really good atmosphere. Very friendly and laid back staff.

It's easier to get train and metro to the hostel - bus is more expensive and involves walking down a big hill which is very steep. Fabulous hostel - will stay there again next time And have recommended to all travellers I've met. Lovely cats!!!
