We had a great time at the hostel, although we were a bit chilly at night (visited in early Feb, during a cold snap). The heater in the room was a bit feeble so we were grateful for the extra blankets provided. Showers were nice and hot. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and also turned out to be a great place to meet people from around the world. PABLO'S FREE WALKING TOUR WAS AWESOME. I would stay at Luis Velez hostel again.

This Hostel was very good for the price that we paid (11.90€). We booked a 5 beds room with common bathrooms but finally, they gave us a room with the private bathroom for the same price. The room was clean (but small), the staff is nice and the hostel is close to "Puerta del sol". However, I've seen that for people that have common bathrooms, for boys, there are not a lot of showers and toilets.

This hostel is as good as an hotel! Only much cheaper... It could not be better situated in the centre of Madrid but without traffic noise. The service and the facilities are excellent. Would like to come back one day.

Great location, very near a metro station, and close to both Sol and the Plaxza Major. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great value for money.

Very clean hostel, which I really appreciated! Staff could speak spanish and english and were very friendly and helpful. Showers were too small though bit annoying. Good kitchen and laundry services which was VERY handy! Quiet hostel, had a couple of computers but not the best. Excellent location though, very close to heaps of shops and main attractions and metro and not far from the train station! Appreciated the location!

The Boss spoke good English, was informative & helpful. However he sold the room which we had reserved he gave us a better one without additional charge for both nights we stayed there. Free internet and well equipped kitchen.

The room is clean and location is really good. It takes about 3-5 min walk towards the metro station and 10-15min to the main train station. The female staff was very nice and helpful but the male was a bit 'unhappy looking'. Kitchen and bathroom are a bit small and crowded, especially in rush hours. Sound shield was not so good from the corridor. So in the night when other residents came back from party, laughing and shouting there, we were waken up.

Booked a double room with shared facilities and was given a free upgrade to ensuite...the room was excellent, clean and very good value for money. The kitchen was adequate albeit a bit small if you had more than a few people in there..would recommend and stay again....

It a good hostel but the shared bathroom it is just one and that is not very good and the arrival to the hostel can be scary if you take the wrong way as happened to us. On the other hand to stay is very good for the location, it is just in the middle of downtown.

good location, but the hostel itself is not worth the price: unfriendly staff, dirty bathrooms & uncomfortable rooms without any character.
