Great location and reasonably priced. They even gave us a discount because the shared bathroom wasn't on our floor! Make sure you leave a trail of breadcrumbs for those long identical corridors, though, as it it built something like a labyrinth!

It was a wonderful experience! The room was beautiful, clean, and modern. We really loved the decor and everything was wonderful. The balcony was a great touch as well.

the place is very clean and the location is awesome. the hostel is near the principal tourist attractions in the city. we would definitely stay there again. it seems very safe because the front door is closed at night and you can only open it if you have the keys. i also recommend the chinese restaurant next to the hostel, they have cheap and delicious food!

My friend and I were lucky enough to have landed a room with two twin beds and a double bed. So the room was huge and it felt like being in a fancy hotel room. The private bathroom was the best! It was extremely clean and I was very happy with the stay. The area was really close to all of the tourist attractions!! In the middle of the city.

The staff was very good, the hostel was clean. There weren't kitchen at the place where we had to move, in another building, from the original reservation. Thats the only thing that could have helped a bit more. Nice place overall, would surely staying there again.

Check-in was really slow. We weren't told the correct time to meet for the free Thursday sangria night and were really disappointed that we missed out. Other than that the stay was good.

All in all the hostel was alright! The womens bathroom could have been a bit cleaner but it was still bearable. Staff spoke english. The location of the hostel is great you can walk almost everywhere! Besides the free city tour with our lovely guide Hary was awesome. She was amazingly passionated and did a wonderful job. She truly loves Madrid and no one should miss a tour with her - both informative and entertaining!

On arrival, we got a room with a private bathroom for the same price; Room size was OK, bathroom was well cleaned and every morning new towels were provided. We didn't use the kitchen of the hostel, but it looked very nice and clean. One or two futile remarks would be that the only channel we could receive on the television was Cartoon Network and the Internet connection sometimes disappeared for a few minutes. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay!

This hostel was very good value for money! We had originally booked a 2 person private room with a shared bathroom, paying 20 euros per person, per night, already a very good price. Then when we got there, they upgraded us to a room with a private bathroom for free! Really more like a hotel than a hostel.

My friend and I had a private twin room which was nicer than some hotels we've been to. We even had a private bathroom with a tub. Only complaint is the walls are thin, but if you have your iPod its all good. The Free Walking Tour events with the Tapas bar hopping and Pub crawl were so much fun! Harriet, David and Javier were fantastic!

The room was excellent. Got a 4 single bed room with a private bathroom. The bathroom was very clean, had a balcony and a safe you can use for 1 euro a day. The only bad thing is that there was construction going on during the weekday so it was kind of noisy, but was quiet during the weekend. Very close to a lot of great restaurants that serve excellent paellas, tapas, and sangria.

Our stay at the Students Hostel Luis Velez was good. The staff was kind, and our room was clean and comfortable. The only downside was that there was only one bathroom for girls and one for boys. This only posed to be a problem 70% of the time, since there was only one toilet in each and two showers. They need more toilets for those who did not get one in their rooms.

Everything was better than expected. I booked a double room for just approx. 18Euro the night. That was a good price for Madrid. As well it was very good - located. You can be in every district within 10-15min. Prado/ Retiro Park: 15min. walk/ Opera/ Palace: 15min. walk and Chueca: 15min. walk. Very good.
