Apt. advertised as within the city of Izmir, but is actually 20km outside of the city. Located within a gated compound bordering slummy tenements. No amenities inside the compound or outside within 5km. Hotel "staff" (the owner's friend) spoke little English and weren't available during our stay. Full payment was expected up front and in cash. We were asked to pay more than the agreed on rate. Kitchen was not stocked with pots, etc. We were not provided with ID to show door guards to get in.
