We spent 2 nights in this hostel and we definetely recommend it. The owner is very helpful and his wife makes delicious food - you have to eat there at least once :) Hostel is located very close to main ghats and the owner can organize you sunrise boat trip if you like. The only disadvantage is that the streeets around hostel are quite noisy, but so is whole Varanasi ;) The place has nice rooftop place to sit in the evenings. There is warm water and rooms are clean (for India) :):)

Very difficult to find, i must have asked 5 auto rickshaw drivers and they all didn't know...they kept on dropping me off to Laxi hotel/guest house. about 10/15min walk to the main ghat which was good. i saw a mouse in my room, didn't see it again though. the hot water only lasts 3min. It has a restaurant which makes it convenient, and the staff are friendly.

we had a wonder full time in varanasi and the hostel owner and team helped us with everything that we needed. The room was clean and nice decorated. We also did the trip that they offer to their guests, including boattour in the morning and several temples. It saved us a lot of stress in the crowded streets of varanasi.

The staff were lovely. We arrived from Agra having been violently ill on the overnight train and I was so happy to see a clean, comfortable room. They even let us stay in the room after we checked out while we waited to board our late night train. The 1/2 day tour was good value, and we saw parts of Varanasi we wouldn't have made it to on our own.

This hostel had very caring staff, good food, clean rooms (in India standards, it was by far the cleanest sheet we had), real hot water and although intermittent. a free working Internet connected computer. It is a bit hard to find. They provide a free pickup from the railway station. However, there was a misunderstanding and the guy who was going to meet us did not show up. We got an auto-rickshaw to the hostel. The owner said that they provide free transfer and paid for our rickshaw. Kudos!

I'm traveling with my parents, who are both seniors and first time to india. Booked this GH 3 months in advance with great expectation (maybe too much?). Well well well ... basic rooms, stained sheets and smelly pillow cases.... the rooms are like fridges because no natural sunlight go through (maybe good for summer?!). To the main ghat, 20~25 minutes walking along a very busy, congested, noisy, narrow street. The only good thing: there is 24 hours hot water. æ°'宿é™"è¿'å^é«'、å^ç''、å^äo'ï¼OE遭é€

Welcome to a typical Indian hostel: squat toilets, piles of rubbish in the corridors, and cars honking away outside all through the night. Hostel staff seem friendly enough, but the dining area is open-air on the roof, so gets really cold in the winter time. Sadly, my stay ended in an argument as the management "found" a food bill that they said I hadn't paid, despite me settling my account that morning.

The hotel was very central Varanasi which very congested. Very cheap but the rooms reflect this. Rooms very noisy and the sheets dirty. The room did have TV but only 1 english channel so not much use. The food on offer was basic and we found it quite expensive. They did have free internet on the roof and helped to book tours of the local area, though you may find them cheaper if you ask around. Overall great if you are backpacker, if not stay out of town which is much more serene.

Gopi, his wife Sammi, brother-in-law Raji and brother Krishna truly made us feel part of the family. Welcoming, helpful, Krishna was a wonderful guide, explaining many things. Sammi is a great cook. Gopi arranged tours and transportation. The guest house is in Old Varanasi. To stay with Gopi and his family is to immerse yourself in authentic Indian culture.

I had a wonderful time at this guest house. The family that runs it is very warm and kind, and went out of their way to keep me safe and comfortable. And the food was some of the best I had in India!

I had a very good time at Subh Laxmi Guest House. The staff is friendly, the food is good and it has a very good location - close enough to all the sights, but well located in a more relaxing area with a street that is not so chaotic as the rest of the city. The guest house also offers good options if you want to have a guide, take a boat trip or see some sights. I would def. come back to this place!
