Can we get poor service at the Sultan? Yes we can. Can we have a choice of 4 substandard breakfasts? Yes we can. Can we go to a place with no common area to meet travellers or have fun? Yes we can. Can we pay more than the advertised price? Yes we can. If you want to go to a hostel with all of the above options then definitely stay at the Sultan...At least the location is excellent.....Yes we can

Excellent location, but all hostels in Sultanahmet are within about 300metres of eachother. No common area (roof top bar currently closed) so Id give it a miss if I was a single traveller. Breakfast was a choice of 4 different options, all pretty average at best and way worse than what Ive heard from other travellers who stayed at other hostels had. I wont be booking there next time.

All hostels are in the same location as this in Sultanahmet (Close to everything). Staff are very rude in the hostel and tried to deny me the 5% advertised discount for the YHI membership. Showers and toilet needed a good clean. Breakfast would not even feed a fly that landed on it. Bread was 3 days old and from a packet when there was a bakers across the road. Rooftop bar is closed in winter. No common area to meet fellow travellers.

Location fine, staff fine. Not much fun, probably because we stayed there in offseason; not very busy. Twin private was fine for the money though!

Great place! Very clean, the staff was super nice and helpful, and you can't get a better location. I would definitely recommend Sultan to my friends travelling to Istanbul.

One shower and one wc in the floor for at less 20 people. In my room any wardrobe, any closet, any stand, any table...incredible! all my clothes im the floor, very uncomfortable.

Better than I expected it to be. Nothing to complain about apart from lack of smiling faces at Reception. When travellers arrive at a hostel exhausted and hot, it would be nice to be greeted with a smile from the hostel staff. But having said that, I'd stay here again because it's a safe option and the location is perfect.

The hostel was in a great location to the great sight seeing places and the price is pretty good for getting a decently comfortable bed (in the dorm) and breakfast in the morning. The staff were okay. They weren\'t very enthusiastic or friendly. Also, the dorm room w/ 24 rooms can definitely use a mop. Showers have hot water though which was nice. Also, they only have small security boxes so if you have a pack you got to trust it laying by your bed.
