Was disappointed by my stay at Sunflower Lodge. If you have a car, the Lodge is ideal, but if you don't, expect long walks to get anywhere due to the position of the Lodge. Main let down was the 'Free Bike Hire' - when I asked for a bike I was given one with broken handle bars unsecured to the main body of the bike. When I reported this I was told by the head of staff "Oh, but I pumped up the back tyre yesterday". Uh, what? Inflated tyres mean nothing if the bike is a danger to ride.

Friendly staff. Had bike to use, which was great. Good atmosphere and neat town.

Really nice atmosphere, great showers and electrical blanket in the single bedroom.

We loved our stay at Sunflower Lodge! The room was very clean and spacious - there was even a small sink in the room! The establishment is very 'homely' and the receptionist was very friendly. She was very helpful with our many questions about places to go in New Plymouth. Easily one of the best backpackers/ lodge we have ever been to. Love it!

Great, friendly environment to stay at while in NP! Would stay again.

Such a beautiful place to stay. The staff are amazingly helpful and friendly, the place is absolutely clean but luckily still has a homely rather than sterile atmosphere. They even have an old piano, bikes to rent for free, and a nice location just on the edge of the beautiful Te Henui walkway. The rooms are clean, laundry facilities are quite cheap, the backyard and the lounge room are also very nice. A good choice for New Plymouth travellers!

We had a lovely time. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Good quality hostel, with friendly staff, whole place is cosy and clean in general.

Nice and clean hostel, great showers. Recommend a car as it is a fair bit from the center, but quiet location and lovely views. Friendly staff.
