The best part of Sunny's is the huge window onto the rice terraces - stunning. Besides that the staff are terse to unfriendly and ordering food is a little akward. The vibe at the hostel at the top of the hill is much better!

Great stay at the 8-bed dorm. Wonderful view of the rice terraces. Don't need to leave the hostel to have a view of the rice terraces for sunrise, just go to the rooftop. Can eat at the hostel as it's a village so nothing much around in terms of restaurants.

Really nice couple running that guesthouse. They can barely speak English but they will help you in anything they can. The views are amazing. And regardless to the remoteness of the place, they had lots of hot water in the shower :)

This place is just great to see the yuanyang terrace, the view from the hotel is amazing and the little village around is nice too. If you want something a bit preserved from mass tourism in yunnan maybe it s the good place. Local people live here quitly and have not open caffe and bar like in dali... the boss and staff of the hotel are vey nice and you can eat local food in the cafeteria. It s clean and cheap. The difficutly to find the place may be the only drawback.

The hostel's owners made us feel like family. The only hostel I've been to where they asked us first if we ate instead of asking us to see our passports and pay upfront. Her son even gave a ride all the way back to Kunming.

We had a wonderful time at this hostel. It was a bit tricky to find but one of the local children helped point it out for us. The staff is amazing. They helped arrange a driver for us who took us to some great spots around the terraces, we did not have to buy any viewing tickets. The food is delicious. Another plus, is that you can watch the sunrise from the roof. Don't need to go anywhere. I highly recommend this hostel.

I loved my stay at this very authentic place and felt warmly welcomed by Ayi, the hostel's boss. The location is situated directly at the rice terraces and in the village. The dinner is definitively worth it's 30 Yuan. For 2 persons you will get 4 different dishes and Ayi makes sure that you will definitively eat enough. The day I left, they started to install wifi. There is a just bit English spoken, which didn't change the overwhelming warm atmosphere. Thanks Ayi, for my time zai titian li. ;)
