Penzy and her husband are very nice and helpful. However, our bed had only one sheet and no blankets. We were able to find a much cheaper and better room further up Chaweng beach road, closer to where all the action is.

Penzy was very nice and accommodating. Her knowledge of the area was very helpful to us, she helped us book our van and ferry combo to full moon party. The private room was super clean and had a safety deposit box. The location is about 10min walking distance to chawang beach and 25min walk to main bar area north. Would definitely recommend this hostel.

Location under 5 minute walk to the beach which was handy. Staff were always happy to help. Clean fairly small room, nice big bathroom with good shower. Good facilities including wifi, tv, fridge, and free tea and coffee and DVDs on rent. The maid service was a nice touch too. All in all a really comfortable stay, would definitely recommend a stay here if you are looking to lounge on the gorgeous chaweng beach.

Penzy and her husband are perfect hosts. They are super hospitable and take you in as family immediately. They helped us book day trips and trips to neighboring islands. They also made great food suggestions and were always there when we needed them. They made us feel at home even though we were across the world!

Exactly what we were after - very cheap, and only a couple of minutes from the beach and main strip in Chaweng. Staff were excellent helped us out and also sorted our transfer to the airport on day of check out.

Liked: the room is huge, fridge & DVD in the room, good location (somewhat close to the beach, but not noisy), staff was super helpful & friendly, Ang Thong Tour was incridible. Dind´t like: moldy smell in room, bed sunk in the middle, had to go down in the morning to get coffee (hot water in the room would´ve been nice), wifi only in lobby. TIPS FOR TRAVELERS: Do NOT book the Holiday minivan service from Koh Samui to Phuket. It was a 12 hour journey, w/ a 2h wait in a horrible (no toilet) bar.

The people who run the hostel were very friendly and helpful. The room I had on the top floor was really nice. Plenty of room and very light. View not so great but it is located away from the beach. But, only a couple of minutes walk away. Would definitely go back there again.

We stayed here in Chaweng for 3 nights. Penzy the owner is really helpful and goes out of her way to help you. We would definitely recommend staying here at Penzy/Sunny guesthouse. The TV and DVD player in our room was a fantastic idea and we were really greteful as during our stay we had a thunderstorm, and it kept us entertained! The guesthouse is in the busy area but down a quiet side street, so there is no noise at night. Great value for money and we really enjoyed our stay here, thank you.

Penzy and David made our stay on Samui an absolute delight. They were always happy to help us with any questions that we had about which was the best tailor to use, or which restaurants we should go to. They organised our snorkelling trip and Full Moon Party transport at a very competitive price and gave us their business card so that we could phone them if we ran in to any trouble at the Full Moon Party. If I am every backpacking on Samui again I will definitely be staying here.

I booked the wrong dates at first (a month before we were supposed to be there) and Penzy quite happily changed the dates without loosing our deposit! Having stayed here last May I know how accommodating Penzy and Dave are! They booked tours, speedboats to the Full Moon Party, trains, buses and ferries for us at an excellent price. The rooms are great with a safe, aircon, hot showers and water delivered to the room every morning! Couldn't ask for a better guesthouse!

Sunny Guesthouse was very enjoyable. Penzy and her husband, the owners, were friendly and accommodating. We found out they had upgraded our room, and were very helpful in booking all of our tours and everything we wanted to do. It was in very close proximity to the beach and plenty of shopping and markets. The hostel was incredibly clean, though lacking some sociability. Be careful on the transfer from the island to the airport if booked at the hostel, my belongings were stolen when on the bus.

The room was really nice, clean, good size, with AC and TV. Also a DVD and free movies if you want to have a quiet night. It didn't have common room or breakfast facilities. The main problem it's located far from the pubs and bars and you have to walk a bit to go to the beach. There are a few bars and places to eat and drink near the guest house but the main action is far away. About 20 min walking. Also I saw more rooms cheaper than Sunny

Penzy and her husbund were the friendliess staff memebers we ever meet on our 2 month holiday. They were so helpfull and honest, especially when they helped us organise our trip to Full Moon Party. We really enjoyed our stay with them even though it was the most expensive place we stayed the service made it great value.

To start with the positive side: the staff was really welcoming and helpful (helped us getting to our next destination). And the location was ok, too, if you want to have a quiet night. The room in itself was nice and big but unfortunatelly there was always a strange smell present. The bathroom was the worst part of it... we didn't really have hot water (but ok we are on an island...) but it had a nasty smell... our guess was the mold that was covered up by paint. So it was not worth its price..

Had a great stay at sunny guesthouse. Staff were so helpful and everyhing was very clean and safe. Only downsides were that wifi not available in room (but is in the lobby so no problem really) and it's about 30 mins walk to the main nightlife on Chaweng beach. Would definitely recommend this place!
