i really like the hostel...reason i chose this hostel was from previous reviews that gave this place good reviews and they were right and i was not disappointed. the location is splendid..near to the forbidden city..tiananmen square and also the night food market where you can try the grilled scorpions, snakes and silkworms etc... many thanks to the Lovely Grace and the "Oh Soooo Sweeeet Wa Ai Ni" Joyce ;) they made my stay entertaining..ask them abt the tours..dont opt for street offers

Excellent hostel, approved by Anna and Steve. Our preferred hostel when we go to Beijing. We came back again recently and they welcomed us with open arms, remembered who we were, gave us a great upgraded room (loyalty perks I suppose!), and were a great resource when we needed them. We will always chose Sunrise when we travel through Beijing.

I stayed almost ten days in this hostel and thought the value for money was excellent. Previously I stayed at 365 Inn, which was also nice but I liked the feel of this hostel better because of the helpfulness of the staff and the fact that it was quieter and more cozy than 365, which was more like a hotel. The location is excellent, especially for the forbidden city, Jingshan Park, Wangfujing street and Tiananmen Square. Atmosphere is nice and cozy - not crazy like in other hostels. I recommend.

Sunrise Hostel was perfect for our first trip to China. The staff spoke fluent English and they were friendly and helpful. The girls at the front desk were always willing to point us in the right direction and keep us from going to places that would scam us. The room was very clean. We had the 2 bed dorm and it had a tv and a desk with 2 chairs. The restuarant was okay, the breakfast foods were better than the rest. I would recommend this place to everyone. GREAT LOCATION!!

Very friendly, helpful staff. Nice rooms, less packed than other hotels, charming place, and cheap compared to the rest of Beijing, especially for such a nice location.

Great hostel! My only complaint was that I booked a dorm and they ended up putting me in a two bed room ... this would have been fine, but only one key card could work at a time, so I had to work out a 'key sharing' system with someone I'd never met before.

Nice hostel in a great location, could do with more than 2 toilets and showers though as it can be busy in the mornings.

This was the second time I stayed here and I had a better experience than the first. Their location is excellent. They're walking distance from night markets, metro, and Forbidden City. They even helped us get train tickets without any push back. The room was clean enough and the staff helpful. I have stayed at better hostels but their location and price is the main reason why I continue to come back.

Excellent hostel. The rooms were warm and the showers were hot, which was very important during wintertime in Beijing. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The dining/common area was a little small and crowded at times. Stayed here for five days and had a great time!

Pros: 1. Awesome location! 2. Helpful and friendly staff! 3. Good inexpensive bar food! 4. Good bookings of shows and sights, for a decent cost. 5. Great room heaters! 6. Decent internet access in the lobby for free. 7. Free Wi-Fi in the rooms. 8. Clean, and quiet rooms. Cons: 1. Smelly bathroom. 2. The provided toilet paper and soap are inadequate for an adult. 3. Smoking is allowed in the bar/restaurant after12 noon. 4. The booking of sigh-seeing venues is ONE-WA

Nice little hostel, only downpoint would be the 2 shower / toilets for the up to 30+ guests that could be staying there at any one time. WiFi is great, very very fast!
