Sunrise is in a great and quiet location just a few minutes walk from the bustling Wangfujing shopping street and the slightly dubious tourist attraction of the Donghuamen Night Market. And only 15 minutes walk from the Forbidden city and T square. The twin room is clean, spacious and the heating works a treat. The only downside to this place (apart from the resident competing backpacker clones) is the distinct smell of raw sewage which lingers in the bathrooms. All in all, a pleasant stay!

I enjoyed my time at Sunrise, mostly because of the people I met there. The reception when I arrived was very friendly and helpful, although sometimes the cafe staff were a little distracted and slow. But the location is amazing, right around the corner from Tiananmen and Gugong.

Location of this hostel is VERY VERY good and that is why I chose this hostel. and for this reason, this hostel is very busy. I forgot to pay more day in previously, so I lost my bed. but they give me another room that door was broken last day and have been repaired. thanks! hot shower. wifi is strong enough.

Had a decent stay at this hostel. The location is totally ideal. Was freezing in there and you needed to keep your heat on a long time before relaxing in your room. Hot water was good for two quick showers or an average one. John one of the guys who helps out in the bar is straight forward honest guy and very helpful. Beware of guys on tri bikes who offer you rides around Tianimen square. They will say only 3 RMB for ride to Tianimen then when you get there demand 300. Dont pay them this money.

i really like the hostel...reason i chose this hostel was from previous reviews that gave this place good reviews and they were right and i was not disappointed. the location is splendid..near to the forbidden city..tiananmen square and also the night food market where you can try the grilled scorpions, snakes and silkworms etc... many thanks to the Lovely Grace and the "Oh Soooo Sweeeet Wa Ai Ni" Joyce ;) they made my stay entertaining..ask them abt the tours..dont opt for street offers

Excellent hostel, approved by Anna and Steve. Our preferred hostel when we go to Beijing. We came back again recently and they welcomed us with open arms, remembered who we were, gave us a great upgraded room (loyalty perks I suppose!), and were a great resource when we needed them. We will always chose Sunrise when we travel through Beijing.

I stayed almost ten days in this hostel and thought the value for money was excellent. Previously I stayed at 365 Inn, which was also nice but I liked the feel of this hostel better because of the helpfulness of the staff and the fact that it was quieter and more cozy than 365, which was more like a hotel. The location is excellent, especially for the forbidden city, Jingshan Park, Wangfujing street and Tiananmen Square. Atmosphere is nice and cozy - not crazy like in other hostels. I recommend.

Our experience at Sunrise Hostel was great. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location. . .it is located within walking distance of historic attractions and the subway. Wonderful tours are offered by the hostel as well. Food menu offers a variety of meals. Private room was simple but clean and offered self control of the heat which was great since we were there in January. The only negative thing was that the drain in the bathroom floor drained very slowly, so bring shower shoes :)

Had a fabulous Lunar New Year at Sunrise this weekend! I booked in a four bed dorm and because of the busy season there was a problem and the room was booked - so I moved to a two bed room at no extra charge. The room was clean and warm, the other guests were all friendly, and the staff were very helpful and friendly at all hours. The hostel had a lot of information available and helped arrange tours even through the holiday. For such a short trip it was amazing to be in walking distance of so many things.

Sunrise Hostel was perfect for our first trip to China. The staff spoke fluent English and they were friendly and helpful. The girls at the front desk were always willing to point us in the right direction and keep us from going to places that would scam us. The room was very clean. We had the 2 bed dorm and it had a tv and a desk with 2 chairs. The restuarant was okay, the breakfast foods were better than the rest. I would recommend this place to everyone. GREAT LOCATION!!

Very friendly, helpful staff. Nice rooms, less packed than other hotels, charming place, and cheap compared to the rest of Beijing, especially for such a nice location.
