The staying here was really good start of my trip in China. The staff is really helpful. I appreciate their help and advices very much.

Stay here for location and charm. An old four-sided Chinese building with open-air courtyard in middle, nestled in quiet old Chongqing staircases and old houses. Nice atmosphere. Staff not warm or particularly helpful, in fact I would say poor. Price for private double is too expensive in relation to space and facilities. Not good for couples as walls retain no sound. Worth it if willing to overpay a bit for location/atmosphere, if not then find a better deal elsewhere.

Has good character and the location is fine, doesn't take long to walk to where the river cruises leave from and isn't that much further to the main part of the city centre. Hostel doesn't have many facilities, however, i.e. no bar, no restaurant, no games (that I could see)and by the looks of it there was only 1 toilet/shower for the whole place. This could become a problem when the place gets busy; ques may well form. The beds were essentially just a wooden block but had heated mats; V.useful
