Small hotel within minutes of Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia, with a very nice atmosphere, small but clean rooms, and very friendly and helpful staff. Owner speaks good English. Substantial buffet breakfast including hard boiled eggs, tomatoes, fresh bread, cakes, fruit and yoghurt etc, served in a top floor room with a fine sea view. They also provide airport transit service for 20 Euros (book in advance).

We had a great time in the Sur Hotel. The staff, especially Ozgur (I believe:-) were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Hotel is nice and clean in the good location. Breakfast was fabulous! And two beautiful and extremely friendly dogs! I will definitely recommend this hotel and will stay there again when back in Istambul :-) Thank you!

Staff honestly went out of their way to help me in any way. This includes, a rush ride to the airport after missing shuttle.

The hotel is alright, the problem is the train that passes by the window. It's very, very loud. I therefore can not recommend this hotel for travelers who like to sleep.

This is a very good little hotel only steps away from the Hippodrome. Staff is friendly and informative. "Oscar" speaks English very well and is a native of Istanbul. He's a great resource for all questions. Attila, on in the evenings, is also very helpful. As a veteran traveller of Asia and Europe, the Sur was one of the best values I have come across. I give it my highest recommendations.

I stayed in this hotel with my mum during the winter holidays. The stay in Istanbul was a wonderful and authentic experience and SUR hotel contributed to our enjoyment and comfort. It is really very well located: just five min from the Blue Mosque. Despite the vicinity to the city centre, the surroundings were very quiet and safe and only the cry of seagulls was heard (which is one of the characteristic sounds in Istanbul for me). The staff is absolutely brilliant and helpful. an exc. choice!!!
