It was hard to ever find someone that worked there,or you have to keep hanging about. But also you were never really sure who actually worked there (except pregnant owner). The food in the cafe was tasty, but a long wait . Several times we ate there, expect to wait an hour even for a salad and even if you're the only ones in there. The showers and bathrooms had such a grubby feel to them, I think one had a lock. We all agreed beds were the absolute worst in SA. Proof lonely planet gets it wrong
Pros: cheap, relaxed, delicious breakfasts for S/ 9, roof terrace with views of the beach. Also cute dogs hanging out and friendly staff. Outdoor kitchen. Easy collectivo into Trujillo just across the street. Cons: friendly but disorganized service (i.e not the fastest, overchanged us), clean but dilapidated, internet only in common areas (sadly not on terrace). Bar being renovated while we were there.
We enjoyed our stay here overall, but it's definitely for more of a surfer crowd (they rent surf gear and are right across from the beach). Wifi doesn't work. Basic kitchen facilities available to cook for yourself, and they have a breakfast and lunch menu to order from (no food included in the price of the room).
A real surf hostel looking across road towards the beach. Great food at good prices. nice old style building. Plenty of cool hang out places not so much a party hostel as nice family live there but very social. Two nice dogs to greet you.
This hostel was pretty average for me. Nothing bad about it. but nothing stand out either. It was comfortable, clean, close to everything that you need and had a chilled vibe.
