Over all, a descent hostel, nice and (allmost) quiet neighbourhood (for marrocan standarts), bed was comfortable and room big. apart from that i do have some things which weren´t that nice: - lack of toiletpaper - hostelboss seems to also have a lack of girls, so if u´r a female - beware! - no storage in the rooms, only beds and that´s it, so if u were staying a bit longer, the room converted eventually in a small chaos - no acces to the internet "because we still have to fix it"

When we walked in the place was swarming with flies and the so-called 'owner' (a young guy living at his parents place) had to be waken up "because he partied so hard last night" and we were so disgusted by the place we did not bother to stay. Also, in order to use wifi to book a new place he had us steal internet outside his neighbour's place because his 'was not working'!

Hi, I've been in quite a few hostels and none remind me of this one. The no-bullshit approach stands out. If you like to go somewhere and put a stop to time for a while this would be your address. The manager Simo is ever so friendly, helpful, and always in for a laugh. Kinda of the guy who's always there to guide through Essaouira's finest locations! Very clean rooms, basic and cozy kitchen where the lady of the house is almost every day cooking some traditional meal! Had the best week!

not great was expecting more very difficult to find and well overpriced, will always look for photos of rooms next time as this was an old mattress on the floor with horrible sheets and cushions with the stuffing coming out - felt dirty - the woman that ran the place sat in front of the tv which was noisy and my room was right next to it and the last night was rowing what i thought was her son - no internet access

Not easy to find, but anyway very recommend to stay at surf and chill. If you want to try surfing, you can rent boards and wetsuits and have your first steps at the local beach just in front of the medina, 15 minutes walk. If you are already experienced in surfing, the hostelmanager organizes cars to rent for trips and knows lot of surfspots, he is also surfing and joining the surftrips. Had an very nice barbecue also. So if you surf or not: Surf and Chill is definitly a good adress :).

I liked the energy of this place, and the staff was super friendly. However, it was really hard to find, and the blankets were kind of oily and felt dirty. Also, its lucky that it is warm there year round because the room has no heating, at night pile on the blankets and you'll be ok.
