Rua Manoel Alfredo Pereira, Guarda do Embau, Santa Catarina
DIRECTIONS
Driving from the north on
highway Br 101, our surf
camp, Guarda do Embau is
situated inside the
National Park of Serra do
Tabuleiro. To get there,
you need to drive past
the exit to Florianopolis
city. 35 kms south
(approximately 22 miles),
to your left, you will
see a sign for Praia do
Sonho (Dream Beach), 8
kms (5 miles) further
south, you must be
prepared to go on the
hard shoulder to your
right before crossing the
highway to get to the
cobblestone road that
will take you to Guarda
do Embau. Pay attention
because the sign is very
difficult to see. If you
are driving at night
(which I do not recommend
as the road is very
dangerous), watch out for
the only illuminated lamp
post you will see on your
left past the exit to
Praia do Sonho; this will
be the exit to Guarda do
Embau. As soon as you
drive out of the highway,
you will be on a
cobblestone road, and on
your right, next to a
bar, you will find the
tourist information
office, which in day
time, if you are lucky
will be open. Continue
driving down this
cobblestone road and
shortly after, there will
be a right bend then a
left bend, at this point
you will be in Morretes.
3 kms (2 miles) down the
road, to your right you
will find the entrance to
Guarda do Embau, as you
turn right into this
road, on your left there
will be a dirt road
called Rua Manoel Alfredo
Pereira, (see map on our
site), follow this road
to the right, and on the
third alleyway to your
left, you will find our
surfcamp site just behind
a peach coloured house.
There will be a gate
closing this road, just
open it and there will be
three gates to your
right; the second one is
the gate to our house,
and it has a bell for
people who want to book
accommodation; the third
gate, is the entrance
gate to our surf camp and
it also has a bell.
Driving from the south on
highway Br 101, some 30
kms (20 miles) past the
exit to Garopaba, you
will pass the highway
patrol station. From
this point onwards, you
will drive past two
petrol stations to your
left, and some 8 km (5
miles) north, if you are
lucky you will see the
sign on your right. Pay a
lot of attention because
it will be the first exit
to you right, and the
road sign will be
literally on the corner
of the exit and it is
usually hidden by the
bushes. If driving at
night, watch out for the
only illuminated lamp
post to your right after
the petrol stations
mentioned previously. As
soon as you drive out of
the highway, you will be
on a cobblestone road,
and on your right next to
a bar, you will find the
tourist information
office, which in day
time, if you are lucky
will be open. Continue
driving down this
cobblestone road and
shortly after, there will
be a right bend then a
left bend, at this point
you will be in Morretes,
3 kms (2 miles) down the
road, to your right you
will find the entrance to
Guarda do Embau. As you
turn right into the main
road in Guarda do Embau,
(Rua Geral da Guarda), on
your left, there will be
a dirt road called Rua
Manoel Alfredo Pereira,
follow this road to the
right, and on the third
alleyway to your left,
you will find our camping
site, just behind a peach
coloured house. There
will be a gate closing
this dead end alleyway,
just open it and there
will be three gates to
your right; the second
one is the gate to our
house, and it has a bell
for people who want to
book accommodation; the
third gate, is the
entrance gate to our surf
camp and it also has a
bell.
By Air: Fly to
Florianopolis city, which
is the capital of the
state of Santa Catarina.
At the airport, take a
taxi straight to Guarda
do Embau (approximately
45 minutes), or go by
taxi to the center of
Florianopolis and take a
bus to Pinheira, which is
the nearest village to
Guarda do Embau
(aproximately one and a
half hour journey). The
bus drives down the main
road in Guarda do Embau,
(RuaGeral da Guarda), on
your left, there will be
a dirt road called Rua
Manoel Alfredo Pereira,
follow this road to the
right, and on the third
alleyway to your left,
you will find our camping
site, just behind a peach
coloured house. There
will be a gate closing
this dead end alleyway,
just open it and there
will be three gates to
your right; the second
one is the gate to our
house. It has a bell for
people who want to book
accommodation; the third
gate, is the entrance
gate to our surfcamp and
it also has a bell.
Ps: one in Guarda look
for our signs on the lamp
posts written either
Surfcamp or Surfcamp e
Chale directing you to
our place.
