Surfing dorms is one if the best hostels I have ever stayed at. The location is excellent, close to two great breaks and cheap food. The area seems to be changing rapidly, but I hope it won't change the atmosphere of surfing dorms. Not too far from the craziness of kuta and seminyak but far enough that you don't hear any techno music at night and you are surrounded by trees and local establishments here and there and beautiful temples. Great for meeting ppl as there are only 7 beds :)

We came as a group of 3 and totally enjoyed every minute.Only a short walk to a great surf beach. The only sad thing is we couldn't extend our stay because it always fully booked.

If you want to learn to surf/surf or just relax and get away from the crowds and noise, then this is the place to go.Small and intimate place.Clean and still close to places of interest.Best if you can ride a motor bike, only $4.50 a day to hire.Loved Echo beach on the weekends with live music.Value for money.Re-booked for my last days in Bali.
