This was a great hostel with great staff, comfortable with good music. However, they should really explain to guests why in their bathroom they post a sign saying "do not throw tissue paper/toilet paper into the toilet" in 10 languages. seriously? are they kidding? because neither a trashcan full of used toilet paper, nor guests that clog toilets are very funny.

Overall we never go back to this hostel. A staff (sorry I forgot asking her name) is very friendly and helpful, and bar & library is well consdered; however, the room we used (Tatami type private room) is awful, plenty of house dust, poor preparation, no window, bed bag, etc... no value for money at all. We should cancel one night stay (of course no money refund). I strongly recommend the owner to make place clean at least; otherwise, they could face to the worst status near future. Family stay

Such a nice hostel and I would definately stay there again if I go back to Hulien. The hostess was super nice and it was very clean and silent, never slept so well in a hostel before.

This is a place you would always recommend your friends. The visit at this hostel made Hualien to my best stop in Taiwan, caused mainly by the great stuff. Furthermore you can always get a nice coffee at the bar. The chapter security should be improved, so please add lockers.

Yo! Hualien is super cruise. Life moves real slow and people take life real easy. I met some cool people from abroad at the hostel. I also met some Hualien people. We went to surfer ken's and cruising and got really drunk. The next night I met choke kids from hualien drinking outside 7/11. I grabbed some beer and we cruised hard. It is such a sick place. The hostel was really cozy too and super cheap. From there I found myself at the small surfer town of 東河 (Donghe). It was ever more cruise.

We had a private room for 2 and the place itself is beautiful. The room was clean and the location is pretty nice as its only about a 15 minute walk from the train station. The only thing about the room is that there was a hallway light that people kept turning on which would illuminate our room, waking us up. However, everything else was great!

I would only recommend this hostel if you are looking for a dorm, not the private room. There is only one private room and it's a separate area partitioned by rice paper doors. Hence, no lock on the door and no soundproofing so the dorm room that holds 10 people beside you will all be walking by and using the bathroom at all hours. They charge $20 something per person so at $50 a night, you're better off using a hotel at that point. Guy in dorm room was bitten by bed bugs all over.

The person working during my stay, Nita, was extremely friendly and helpful. She was also very knowledgeable about things to do/places to go in Hualien and nearby. This made my stay that much more pleasant.
