A great location, people were great fun, a nice outdoor space. Wasn't very clean, the bedroom wasn't hoovered the whole week i was there! bathroom was very basic, only two toilets for whole of the hostel and 3 showers. Ok value for money for Bondi.

People staying there was amazing, however, the staff was rude and inconsiderate. They would blast music at 7 am. There was also cockroaches everywhere! There are tons of hidden costs, I probably wouldn't return.

When you get to a hostel, you are looking for hospitality, specially from the people that work there. This hostel is the oposite from that. Besides, Kurt, and english guy, all the other staff suck. There is a dutch girl that barely says hello to people. She is always with a dog face, looking at everyone with contempt. The other fellow travelers were really nice, but beleive me, if you wanna feel welcomed, this is not the place for you. The rooms were a complete mess!

Our stay at Surfside was really nice. The room was nice and clean and the staff was pretty helpful. One of the best things was all the free surfboards and bodyboards that we borrowed almost every sunny day. André, Hannes and Zeb.

Intended to stay there for two nights but ended up staying there four nights, the hostel is very cosy and is situated 100 metres from the beach. When you arrive there during the day you will probably think it is the dullest Place ever because everybody is to the beach during the day. In the evenings the hostel comes to live, the garden is always full of people and had some great nights there and met cool people. Definetly will come back there the next time i'm in Sydney.

Very fun place to stay. Good for having drinks, so not quiet in the night! Dirty only because the people staying there were! Not staffs fault! Really fun place! 2min wall from bondi beach!

Reception was never open, they messed up our booking so 2 of us had to share a single bed in an already crowded room (with sunburn!). Also security wasn't great, no lockers, bedroom door was constantly open, they let a crazy old woman stay who had actually broken in to the hostel the week before and didn't evict her after numerous complaints and people asking to swap rooms. However we did have a great time in bondi, lovely atmosphere, met some great people and was right on the beach!!

Upon arrival they announced they were over booked like previously mentioned by others & we were sent to the Russians lodge which wasn't what we paid for - their rates were cheaper but we had to pay according to original booking. There was strict no alcohol policy but at least they took their job seriously not like surfsides ignorance regarding pleasing their customers.

I booked surfside through hostelworld about 2 months prior. Upon check in I was told that I will be sent to lamrock lodge. Lamrock is run by nasty Russians. Was constantly killing roaches in my room. It was tiny and disgusting. I felt like I was taking showers in Kazakhstan, grossly below average. The whole hostel has a alcohol -free policy and the Russians would yell at you and throw you out if they saw you drinking any sort of alcohol. Surfside was also pretty dirty and smelly. Do not recommen

Our stay at the hostel was mediocre, the room was so small and there was no airconditioning. We stayed at the partner hostel down the road a little and the location was fantastic! So close to all the shops, beaches, restaurants etc. No parking for my car but the street seemed safe enough. We had a difficult time checking out as we needed to leave at 7am but the office isnt open between 6am-830am. Having said that, i would stay here again as it is good value and is in a fantastic location

Needs more storage and better security. Not enough lockers for the amount of people staying there. The owner needs to work on his people skills. The front of house staff were friendly and the atmosphere was generally good.

The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. However, the dorms were very cramped with only a small electric fan. There were only two toilets and showers in the girl's bathroom and a small kitchen area which was always a bit mucky. Computer facilities were good and the beach was just down the street.

Toilets and showers are filthy and smelly! only had two in total between maybe 100 people, dorms were over crowded and filthy. Over priced for what it is. Only positive was that staff were all friendly along with everyone there!

Great location for the beach, shops and local bars! Wifi available to buy sometimes a little hard to connect but pretty good and not too expensive (more you buy better the deal)! Bars in Bondi close around 12 but can get to the city easily on a bus for a proper night out :) quite a few long term / working people staying here b after a few days nice social group!
