I had an awesome time at surfside hostel in bondi. It's a great location, 5 minutes from the beach. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and a free breakfast is always good! Definitely looking forward to going back.

The hostel was in a perfect location to enjoy Bondi beach and located on major bus routes to make getting into Sydney easily. The common areas (kitchen, patio and movie room) made it easy to meet other travelers. The staff were great in helping out with any info I needed. I would stay here again. -steve

I booked two nights here and 6 days later I haven't left! The location can't be beat--it's in the middle of all of the Bondi Beach action close to awesome cafes and bars and, of course, the actual beach. The rooms and bathroom are kept very clean and the hostel hosts cute group dinner nights and helps out with anything and everything you need around Syd.

Rooms were slightly crowded and theres no lockers. Internet didnt really work. Location is v good. Ladies have 2 toilets and 3 showers and the water from the showers spreads all over the bathroom floor. Staff is nice and the people friendly.

kitchen, communal room, bathroom facilities. All these were unclean!! As the hostel was full, surf side rent out the communal tv room for people to stay in (so it smells and you can't watch tv as it full of people sleeping). Kitchen facilities very small and even worse when the hostel is over populated. You have to hand your key in to get a pan to cook (but if no1 is at the desk or when it is shut this is a problem). Also people cut hair in the kitchen=unhigenic. Rooms standard/small + hot/smell

I stayed in several hostels around Sydney City, Potts Point, Kings Cross, Bondi and Manly. Surfide is ok compared to others. Best hostels in Sydney are around Potts Point but if you want to stay close to the beach this is an option.

This was such a fun place to stay. The room are clean and decent size, comfy beds and crazy lovely people. The internet is rubbish though and the kitchen a bit small but other than that its great. Its bang on the beach in the middle of Bondi so great location. Fairly cheap too. If you want to use internet for free there is a peter pans travel agents just around the corner too. Would recommend to any young people who want a good laugh with fun people.

Nice hostel, located about a block from Bondi beach. To go to the city just hop on a bus and in 15 minutes you are there. Would recommend buying one of the Multi Zone passes that they have in Syndey, look for it. The security was ok, but no lockers in the rooms. Cleanliness could be better considering that I found a cockroach in the room where I was staying. Internet is payed just like almost everywhere in Australia. Nice place to meet people and hang out at the beach. Would stay there again.

Most of the staff were amazing, and provided good advice and places to go. I will definitely consider coming back to surfside on my way back through Sydney!

really liked the outside patio , great to sun tanning and ping pong! Hostel was generally clean although at times the dishes staked up I guess because other guests dont clean up after themselves. could use airconditioning in the rooms . but overall I would defiantly recommend this hostel. Its a great location , the staff made me feel at home and there is free surfboards. Awesome.

I just did not like the place. The only good thing I have to say is that the place has a really good location. I don't know if it was just the people living there that were unusually unclean, or if the staff never where cleaned. I just only slept there for two of the three nights I had booked. But I have to say It was not the wrest hostel I have been to.

The staff is not as polite as you would like them to be. They messed up our room reservation. You get charged 3$ extra/bed for "making of the beds" without them even telling you. Inconvenient experience overall. The frying pans are locked in the reception which means that you can only use them the few hours the reception is open. We arrived early so first we couldnt access the room. When we returned a few hours later the reception was closed and we had to wait further. The location is nice.

I would not recommand this backpackers. I was a real nightmare and the worst hostel that we made. Kitchen, showers adn room was really dirty. You have to pay 15$ per person to land plate, cup, knife, fork. Very noisy the guy in charge of the security did nothing. I will never go again.

I will say that this is possibly the worst hostel I have ever stayed in! It was absolutely awful I cannot even begin to describe the incidents that occured here during my stay . It was such a terrible experience I would seriously advise anyone who is thinking of staying here to reconsider. I intend to share my experience on trip advisor so I can make future travellers aware of this place and hopefully they will keep away and not be subject to the awful time I and many others had here!
