Firstly the free WiFi that is advertised is not free, you get 1 token that is taken off your deposit. You are offered more if you write a positive review on here. The rooms are crowded, there is nowhere to put your stuff, no secure lockers in rooms and some of the room doors don't even lock. The kitchen was disgusting with dirty dishes everywhere. Many of the long term residents are very rude, making lots of noise at night, shouting and screaming at 4 in the morning when drunk. Do not go!

Facilities and location were great but staff were not friendly.

This hostel has SO much potential. It's a shame the manager- Dean- is so rude and disrespectful to women. Also the owner - Richard- definitely micro manages the establishment and is rude and intimidating. He destroys the atmosphere out of the place when he's around. He will try to rip you off if you don't pre-book online.. Ontop of that. dirty toilets, cockroaches, disgusting kitchen. Also, they only give you "free wifi" if you write a positive review. so disregard any positive. They're phony

Pretty much like the reviews said. Dirty dishes, cockroaches, noisy. My dorm room was such a mess I could barely walk to my bunk, it smelled, and there are so many rules plastered everywhere it feels like you're always being told what to do. But the beach is right around the corner and there's no places cheaper. Busy, dirty and noisy, but not much choice at Bondi.

Lots of noise on the hotel in the night

I was very disappointed with this hostel. The staff was rude and not customer service friendly. The kitchen was disgusting, the counters were always dirty and there were ALWAYS dirty dishes in the sink. I also saw a cockroach in the kitchen, air con didnt work, no free parking, and you had to give your room key to get a frying pan? Ridiculous!

I booked the surf side but they put me in lamrock lodge which was dark, dingy and dirty. I paid for a double bed room and got 4 bunk beds.

Communal areas are awesome, a great place to meet people. Nice kitchen-very clean. Real family feel-everyone knows each other and are very welcoming. Lots of workers stay there-but they stick around for a reason! Brilliant location so close to the beach. Had a wicked stay and extended it too.

The Staff member "Deano" was fantastic and should be commended for his work! However the gentleman with the red hair made two crucial mistakes and needs to seriously improve his attitude. Mistake 1: Indicated the wrong area on the map to park my vehicle. Resulted in an extra 20 - 30 mins wasting my time driving around Bondi Mistake 2: Provided me with the wrong change when I was purchasing a towel. - Bunk beds also need rails - FREE breakfast means you DO NOT charge for milk!
