Great if you want to stay somewhere long term with long term lodgers! AWFUL if you're just stopping by for a night or two! AVOID! Stay in Sydney and just get the bus over for a day!

Very poor experience here - (overly) rowdy guests, average staff, crappy room. pay a bit more and avoid this slum

We booked a private room and surfside hostal send us to another hostal, without informing us previously and arguing that they didn't have private rooms. We spend our time in a Hostal we did not choose.

We stayed here as a last resort for one night. Was okay-dorm room was extremely messy due to long termers (but they had no where to put their stuff).Didn't appreciate having to pay for clean bedsheets & strip them off after our stay (pretty lazy of the staff!) Need more toilets/showers. Kitchen was decent, living room wasn't great. Manager was okay to us but saw him being rude to other guests. Breakfast consists of dry cereal (you have to buy milk but free tea/coffee). Wouldn't recommend.

Wasn't the cleanest of places but it was a great atmosphere, lovely people. Would recommend as a party hostel. Locations good literally a minute walk to the beach however it takes 45 mins on the bus to get into the centre of the city. Good value for money and the free hire of bodyboards and equipment is great.

Nice place, helpful staff, really good location. People can be loud at night , but that's what you expect in a hostel and location like that. There was no women's shower. Also Lambert has no lock on the front door - so not too secure.

Surfside was a great place to stay. The facilities were clean and most of the staff were fairly friendly. The atmosphere is really laid back and relaxed. The only thing I didn't like about the hostel was that you are not allowed to be in the back yard fenced area past 10 pm, somewhat inconvenient. Other than that very clean and hospitable place. I would definitely stay there again

Great front desk guy, a lot of people doing long term work living there with their smelly clothes hanging in the bedroom. A bit of clutter everywhere, but overall a great location and a good place to stay if you're in Bondi
