Best hostel I've ever stayed in. Everyone was really friendly, and there was always someone at hand to help if ever I needed anything. The tv area was amazing and helped create a family feel. I would definitely stay there again.

Great atmosphere! Everyone made you feel very welcome and it was so easy to meet new people and have a good time. Bathrooms were clean and showers were good and the location was prime, will definitely stay there again if I get the chance :)

This hostel was dirty-the floors of the dorms were filthy.beds horribly uncomfortable. There are notices to clean the dishes&cutlery or you'd lose your deposit-this was totally ignored!we asked for clean bowls so he got some from desk-they were dirty! The girls toilets were disgusting most days and not cleaned very well. Breakfast was included-this was cereals (no milk)! Very noisy, most people here had no respect for others, just got drunk&rowdy&acted like idiots.awful-couldn't wait to leave!

I have stayed at surfside a few times now and everytime I have been there I have had the best time. This is the best hostel I have stayed in for the atmosphere, everyone is always so friendly and it is very easy to meet people. The hostel is standard and clean (what more can you ask for from a hostel), the staff are very friendly, the location is perfect you are right on the beach and it is very easy getting in and out of the city. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

This hostel was pretty cool. I'd stayed here once before and had no complaints. However, on last occasion the common area was full of inebriated Englishman which pretty much forced me to deem car sleep a better option. This wasn't the fault of the hostel - which I can't fault - more an indictment of the drunken English who would be better staying at home. Sadly they can't be identified upon check in. All in all...great place to stay!

Dirty, smelly, showers & Toilets were revolting, i actually wanted to ask the staff for cleaning products so i could clean them!! beds were so smelly it was disgraceful, sheets were smelly! kitchen area filthy overall my stay here was a disaster and this place is way over priced for the dirt you are expected to live in!

Staff weren't very helpful when there was a mix up with the beds on the first night. Ended up with me having to leave the hostel at midnight and stay elsewhere. But I was offered a free night instead.

Hostel itself very average, reception closed during most of the day. Worst thing was the transfer service....just useless, booked for collection from airport (albeit on the same day but there was no minimum notice period) they never even got back to me, when i rang at the airport no apology just told i needed to book it earlier. Booked a transfer back to the airport and it was at least 15mins late, at that point i had to get a cab instead as i didnt want to miss my plane. Wont be going back.

This is a party hard hostel. Guests were drinking loudly every night. Great if that is what you are looking for. NO air conditioning in the dorms made it pretty uncomfortable. Staff were very nice and accommodating.

The hostel is ok. If you want to be close to a beach, then this is it. The rooms are dirty, but it's hard to clean it when everybody's stuff is laying everywhere. The free internet is only 1 hour, and than you haft to pay for it.

The cleanliness, disgusting place!! Dirt and undone dishes everywhere. People smoking on the balconies in rooms, even though you have clear lines about that - and we stayed in same room as one working in reception, she said nothing about it. People were getting drunk and partying in the common area and kitchen, next to reception - the girl in reception said nothing about it. There were not any room for those who wanted to eat and relax in common. Very poor parking opportunities (free parking)

Great view of the beach. Good living quarters but needed lockers. And maybeI towel hooks in theorder bathrooms. And I should have taken part in the hostel activities more instead of going out to downtown Sydney every night.

Staying here was mental. Think the hostel has a name for itself on the drinking front. This led to total carnage during the night which resulted in the police being called. However there was no actual security apart from a semi bulked up man, thus leaving everyone vulnerable to the crazy invaders. Apart from that location was good and fairly cheap considering its location. Would stay again if it was not so mental and there was proper security. Jay :)

The receptionists don't know what they are doing (especially the brunette woman) and the place was overrun by Irish idiots! We bought a deal where you were supposed to give us free internet, SIM card and job help but they kept delaying giving us stuff and refused to give us the free internet. The staff allowed non-guests to come into the hostel and start drinking at 4pm then wondered why at 11pm those people were starting fights with everyone and everything (including sofas).

I was supposed to stay in a 6 bedroom and I ended up in a 8 bedroom. I specifically asked for a quiet room as I had to work the day after. The receptionist lied to me saying that everybody in the room worked but wasn't true.A nightmare, at 3 am one of the roommate threw up spaghetti bolognese all over the room. The day after I asked to change room, they put me in a 12 bedroom promising that maximum 3 people would have slept in the room. Lied again the day after they put 8 new people in the room
