The staff was super cool, preparing everything before check-in... My advice, don\'t hesitate and go to SWISS 1291 HOSTEL. Will be back soon hopefully! La location était parfaite, une équipe au top et parfaitement bien situé dans NYC (central park, times squares, etc.)N\'hésitez plus,j\'ai vécu une superbe expérience et j\'espère revenir bientot!

The staff at the hostel were incredibly helpful with maps and giving us key pointers since we were first time visitors. The location was amazing, only a few short blocks from time square! The hostel was run down to say the least. But for what we paid we weren't expecting the ritz. All in all it was a great experience.

Excelent location, near by Times Square, Central Park and subway. I stayed in an annexe building, which had no wi-fi. There is nothing included, like breakfast. It's not a sociable and lively hostel, but for those who just want a comfortable, clean and safe to sleep, is a good option, although not cheap.

This hostel was disgusting and extremely dirty. I only stayed here for two nights, and I hated it. The bathroom was absolute filth with hair and dirt everywhere, and the bed was foul! The pillow obviously had never been replaced since the hostel opened, and the pillow and the quilt both smelled really really bad. I stayed at another bigger hostel for half the money, so I was expecting basic cleanliness. Atmosphere sucked too. Would def not recommend this hostel ever! YUCK!

The bed was uncomfortable, the room was hot, and worst of all the bathroom... the bathroom was tiny, the shower was dirty, the toilet seat was not the same size as the toilet bowl, the sink drain was halfway plugged, and there was hardly room enough in there to dry ones self off. I won't return to this hostel.

The hostel was not how I expected. I was led far from the main office to a secluded location. I was not assisted with my heavy luggage whatsoever. There was no elevator so I had to lug my luggage up a huge flight of stairs. As a female travelling alone, I did not feel comfortable or safe where I was staying. The room was humid with no fans and the window was heavy and did not stay open. The powerpoints had been painted over and so did not work. The window looked onto an ugly concreted area.

Excellent location! 10 min walk to Times Square and 5 minutes to Columbus Circle. The staff was very nice and pleasant. Room (sleeps 5) was actually a studio apartment, with a kitchen and bathroom en suite.

Staying at NYC at this time of the year is very expensive. So there is not proportion between the room and the money I paid. But it was very good!! The area is very safe if you want to be alone at night. And everything is very near to the hostel.

This was my second stay at Swiss 1291 hostel and this is the only hostel I use when in NYC. Everything was great. The location is ideal and the apartment style rooms are great. The hostel does a great job in pairing the mixed dorms and it works out very nicely. The rooms are clean, spacious, and secure. I highly recommend Swiss 1291 hostel and will continue to stay here again when in NYC.

I had a wonderful time staying at Swiss 1291. It was difficult to carry my suitcase up the tiny spiral staircase, however I had assistance from one of the other travelers, which was sweet. The bathroom was clean and it was an overall pleasant stay. I loved that the feel was homey, with a neat and tidy place to stay and a great little balcony. I found the keys very frustrating to operate as some of the locks seem difficult to unlock and also, the heaters kept turning on in the middle of the night

On the second day it has rained in our room! They tell us you have to go two blocks for a other room. We went two blocks while it has rained. They said we have to move one day before we leave again. We went on Thursday back (with all luggage), but they forgot to tell us, we could stay. We went back. At the afternoon I received a call that they got a spontaneous reservation and we have to move out, now. When we arrived, all my personaly stuff is left. They packed for us. I was so angry...

DO NOT STAY HERE. I repeat: DO NOT STAY HERE. Don't be fooled by the location. The bedding and linen was beyond disgraceful. The door to the room showed signs of previously being broken into. Plus I did not get the room I booked on the web and was told "we didn't think people would mind". Well... we do. That's why we make bookings that we expect to be upheld. I have nothing positive to say about this hostel, and I have stayed in many, I know what to expect. This place is AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE.

I think is an excellent location and a cozy place, for sure value for money. Bathrooms are clean and normally free the only weak point is the clean level of the rooms that I think should be improved. Overall I personal recomend it.

An ideally located hostel... A pleasant staff and a correct room... We shall just regret the state of the bedding despicable of a professional hosting (Mattress of which there are only springs and pillows which is juste an amount of cotton)

This was actually my first time staying in a hostel so i didn\'t really know what to expect. Usually, i stay in a hotel. I found that this hostel was fantastic! Very nice and supportive staff. Rooms were nice, clean, and colorful. I would definitely recommend this Hostel to anyone who asks. Oh, and the price was right.

The worst hostel I have ever stayed in. Missed my flights charged for that night- Arr @ 9am no sleep still wouldn't allow me to check into the room until 2pm 'lounge area' tiny dirty stuffy staggered around streets for 5hrs!!! Share bathroom adjacent my room 'broke down' the toilet filled to the brim the smell rancid was still not fixed a week later when I left. Cockroaches in the kitchen, building very old and run down no security, way overpriced to others nearby only plus was location
