Excellent location in Sydney city - close to bus and rail connections and adjacent food and entertainment areas. Best accommodation option with minimal hassles in the most interesting area of Sydney.

Sydney Central YHA was set in the perfect location! I was able to go anywhere I wanted by walking the short walk to the station and hopping onto any of the trains there. It was also within walking distance of a grocery store, China town, and souvenir shops. And even further on foot you could walk to Darling Harbour and Hyde Park. Security was great..I didn't feel worried about any of my belongings or even my own safety. The storage lockers are huge!

Good location. For transportation, it is near central railway station. For shopping and eating, it is closed to Paddy market and China town. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Very well organized staff and facilities are great. I just wished the windows were sound proof so I didn't have to hear the noise coming from the Scubar just next door. It depends which room you are in though. Otherwise the hostel is great!

The bed sheets had stains of food or blood on it and the window had cum written on it in what looked like it. apart from that it felt safe and was fun and is a great location. Overall had a great stay.

I did not expect so nice place for a youth hostel. I'm 57 and felt so happy that I' looking forward to have the same experience again at Sydney Central YHA the next travel to Sydney. Congratulations! You have won a faithful customer! Atilio A.Zonta from Brazil

There was no consistency in the responses we received from staff about general questions (such as the airport shuttle). A few staff members were confused about the shortening of a guest's name and responded in a rude and demeaning manner. This could be a really cool hostel, but our group came to the consensus that it was not worth our money or time to stay here again. It's a great location, but expensive and disappointing.

Absolutely the best

No temperature control. No TV. For the price paid for a twin room, it was NOT worth it.

Friendly, clean and good location

Room 620 stinks, I think it is coming from one of the lockers or it is in the carpet, and there is also a lot of abandoned stuff in there. I stayed in room 820 before and it doesn't smell at all, but 620 has a balcony and the door is open for a few hours a day and the room still stinks. And one roommate vomited on the carpet. The 6th floor mens bathroom needs the ventilation fixed. Rest of the hostel is very clean
