Had everything you could need and very central. Lots of lone travellers too

I was impressed since I usually stay in hotels. It was quiet in a great location. The amenities were great and the beds were comfy. Check in was efficient and there was always someone available to assist.

Location is superb, but there are several better hostels in Sydney. Wifi is only in one common area and is not even very great there. Room was hot and dank with or without the air-con on. Security wise, seems like any man on the street can get right up to anyone's room door easily. You'd expect more for the price, even in Australia

rooms amazing and clean, the terrasse is incredible w its views! the staff are horribly cold they know nothing and are just plain rude. the hostel seems to be home to many families and senior citizens. it gives off a weird vibe and hard to meet other travelers

Stayed here for two nights with my mom. Fabulous location, super clean, quiet at night, cool architectural details. Beautiful view of the opera house from the roof!

My wife and I stayed in a private room that had a bathroom. Best think about this hostel is its location. It is situated in a very pleasant old district with beautiful houses and cosy passeges. There are many old pubs around, 5 minutes walk to the bridge and Circular Quay. The hostel itself is built on an archeological site with remains of 18th century house bases preserved.

Haven't stayed in a YHA for a very long time. I will definitely return to this one next time I'm in Sydney and in need of a great place to stay. Work spending the extra bit of money!

The design of the building is very clever. The displays and information plaques are interesting and educational. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the place seems to be very well organised. The location, in my favourite part of Sydney, is the icing on the cake

Everybody in hostel seemed to be 50+ or under 17. Nobody was sociable or easy to approach and talk to. Spent 4 days here alone, had to go to local bars to meet people. Most expensive YHA in Sydney and didn't get much for money. Wasn't given a great briefing on the hostel beforehand either so didn't know where anything was. Rubbish experience overall and would never go back there unless I was retired!!!

A great hostel in a perfect location - only the daily arrival of the cruise ship in the harbour prevented us from having a fab view of the opera house! Staff were very helpful and friendly and the kitchen areas very well equipped. We loved the roof top terrace, despite it r\zaining whilst we were there. The bed was very comfortable and the shower room lovely. More hooks on the wall might have been useful, or another storage unit, although there was plenty of room under the bed.

Great, friendly hostel in an excellent location for tourists

Pretty expensive for a hostel in my opinion, but located directly at The Rocks and with a beautiful view of the Sydney Opera House and the Harbor Bridge of Sydney from the rooftop. As expected of YHA nicely organized with locked doors after 10 pm, 24h front desk, very helpful staff.

Great location. Central and easy walk/bus/train everywhere. Great view of the harbour from the terrace!! 4 bed dorm was quiet and clean. Some issues with shower drainage, but they were planning on looking into it. Cheap options for breaky in the morning, good value for $7.
