Fantastic location! Easy hassle-free check-in. Very comfortable beds, nice sheets. Comfortable room temperature with the natural ventilation. Only problem we had was the shower needed a good scrub. I have cleaned in motels for years so I just assumed it would be stained grout, but gunk came off when I scratched with my fingernail. Only stayed for one night so assumed we would get a clean bathroom (the rest of the bathroom was ok, just a bit of mould in the sink back seal). Suggestion: flyscreens

The good: Location cannot be beat! Right by the Harbour Bridge and Opera House and a very short walk to all the public transport at Circular Quay. It's pretty clean, the people were friendly, and the hostel-organized events were fun. Generally quiet. The bad: The walk from Circular Quay is steep and involves a lot of stairs. If you have a lot of luggage, grab a taxi. Also, our room window opened to the street and across from it there were ball games going on until late in the evening.

I thought the hostel was in a great location and has loads of potential- location is probably the best in the world. However there are some things that need to be considered. WIFI is not free. Temperature is hard to control & sleeping was almost impossible until i walzed up to reception to change it- and the staff were friendly and obliging. Internally there isnt any tours or group teas or the like on offer which made mingling hard and the ensuite was not cleaned once in the 2 nights i stayed

I had a fabulous stay in the Rocks with everything I needed at my fingertips. Loved the lockers and the lounge and the cleanliness of the establishment. Have already recommended to many, thank you.

The best place to stay for a night out in the city. Location in the Rocks is primo with easy access to the Opera House and great restaurants. Views are second to none. We have only stayed on the highway side of the hostel - and the road noise is moderate. We will try and stay on the city side next time.

Very nice and clean, but lacking in character and feels very sterile and hospital like. My main gripe with the hostel is that it is so expensive. For the same price (US$200 for a 4 bed dorm), you should be able to get a very nice hotel room in any other country (5 star) but here you need to pay extra for towels and the internet. The toilet is so small that I found it hard to shut the door. The location is excellent though not near the party areas. More for families with kids.

Excellent YHA. Great location, fantastic acilities, large lounge and kitchen area, lights and plug sockets by each bed, and even sockets in lockers. Everything a hostel should be. It is expensive for a dorm room, but would definitely go back.

Great new hostel, in the perfect location to enjoy Sydney. Huge common area with sofas and a large kitchen area made it a comfortable place to relax. My only complaint was that they didn't have many activities to join in the evening to socialise with other people in the hostel.
