expensive hostel for its class, but clean

-Would like wifi available in other common areas besides just lobby -internet speed was mediocre not very fast -better clarity on policies of Hostel. I wanted to buy the 10 day hostel pass--and was told I would be reimbursed for my stay. Hostel staff did not clarify that I would only be reimbursed if I booked on the day of my initial check in. -Better security after hours--seems like anyone can walk in if they just press the buzzer!!

I was only here for one night so couldn't really get a feel for the social aspect, it defiantly isn't a party hostel, but it is a brilliant location with amazing views. Very secure and very clean! Can't complain :)

Not much atmosphere in the hostel, no free internet in rooms for that prices. But clean and modern hostel with helpfull staff in a good location of Sydney.

Although Sydney Harbour YHA is pretty expensive for a hostel, I felt it was definitely worth it. First, the rooms have great security (I love lockers inside the rooms). Second, the location is perfect and it is so easy to get to all that Sydney has to offer. In addition, the Big Dig related info is so cool! Rooftop is unreal. Great kitchen and super clean. Staff were also great and helpful. Lots of families, so not much of a party hostel. But that does mean you will have a quiet sleep! Good work

After the review in Lonely Planet and TripAdvisor, I was really disappointed with my Sydney YHA experience. Place has a cold, clinical atmosphere and staff is not helpful or really responsive. They sit, work the desk and that's it. No real warmth or atmosphere here. But the nice thing is that it is quiet at night and people are respectful of quiet hours. Also, view is great from the roof but don't plan on seeing much if a ship is in port.

Best hostel in my entire backpacking trip.

This is a conveniently located clean hostel at The Rocks with friendly staff and nice amenities, including laundry facilities and free Wi-Fi in the lobby. One can even purchase breakfast there at a reasonable price if you don't want to purchase and prepare your own food. Shops, convenient stores, and restaurants are all close by. It is a good value overall.

Great location right in the middle of The Rocks. New, clean and modern facilities. However most expensive Hostel I've ever stayed in! Great rooftop overlooking the harbour however like most YHA's not much atmos. The place was very clinical although when in Sydney it should just be somewhere to crash anyway!

Great location but rather boring

This is a good place to stay. The rooms are generally spacious. The living room is huge and the kitchen space is very large and accommodating. Also met some nice people here. The location is A+++. Highly recommend this place.

This hostel is clean but very pricey and not for backpackers. There is no atmosphere here and the "events" which are organised are not publicised so only afew turn up. The hostel was mainly full of older people with families, so if that's you then it would be a great place to stay

This is a fantastic hostel in a prime location near Sydney Harbour! The view from the rooftop deck is spectacular (and there is Wifi up there as well), it is easy walking distance to the Opera House, Darling Harbour, and other centrally located attractions. In addition, the staff was fantastic when I got ill and needed to visit the hospital -- asking after me and being generally concerned about my well-being. Would recommend!

Very close to the Circular Quay (15 min from airport) considerer some stairs in the way if your are traveling no too light. Very clean. Amazing view to the Opera house from the terrace...can't think in a better one. As every HI is full of stupid school kids/old people. but close to very good discos at the rocks!!
