the staff was very friendly but the room was the worst I ever had in my traveller life! The smell was horrible and the bathroom was really horrible! The toilet was dirty (someone just had to do his business before leaving!) and the shower drain was full of hair and fungus all over the edges! The shower doors are just hanging in there. It was disgusting. No cleaning at all!! The only good thing in the bathroom: the hair dryer! The breakfast was ok as well as the terrace. Internet for free.

The Sydney Hostel Istanbul is in a great location. Only 5 min walk to the Blue Mosque and the Ayasofia. I stayed in the 7 bed female door, the room was fine and clean as was the bath room. All just very old. For 12 euro a night though you really just get what you pay for. Breakfast on the roof top was nice.

We had a 3 bedroom private ensuite and the room smelt so bad as soon as we walked in. We didn't know where it was coming from so opened the windows and the smell went away. Finally realised it was coming from the bathroom, we think it was the drains. So we had to keep the bathroom door closed, which made it smell even worse because it was enclosed in there. We tried sprays and nothing worked. We had to hold our breath everytime we went in there. We also had to hold the shower head when showering

Great location, very friendly staff, rooftop terrace are the only advantages of this hostel. The room was horrible: only slightly bigger than the bed, very damp and very dark, as the window was facing a wall. Very dirty (we even had a bug in the room. Unbearable smell. Everything was broken: the shower doors didn't close, the toilet was leaking badly, closet handle broken, bathroom tiles cracked, mirror light dismembered, etc. There are dozens of excellent alternatives around for the same price.

We stayed in a beautiful Dooblebedroom with balcony and seaview. Very beautiful! But even if you should stay in a different room, the Hostel got a nice roofterrace where you can drink Tea and play Backgammon / Tavla while watching the ships pass by. I thinkt you cant find a better located place in Istanbul. Its 5 minutes walk to all famous sightseeing attractions. I havent seen the dormetorys, but the double room is beautiful. Worth a visit!

Had a few minor issues with the bathroom but the staff was very good about coming to (temporarily) fix it. The location was great; super close to all the sight-seeing places and lots of restaurants nearby. Friendly staff

I travelled with my Mum and we had the most amazing time in Istanbul! Thanks to the Hostel Staff, their extraordinary support and friendliness, we had a fantatstic time, enjoyed ourself and relaxed throughout the whole trip. The Staff was very supportive with arranging the transfer back and forth from Airport to Hostel, offered tours and showed us get arounds. Everything in a friendly gesture and never impolite or too pushy. All in all this trip made it to the top of our City trips and we can recommend it a

I'll start off with the worst thing i have experienced yet, one of the guys that worked there attempted in locking me into a room one night , i was intoxicated , an easy target for an older man, im just lucky enough to have still had some witts about me and got out.Though the hostel was in a great position, the room didnt have a lock as i was in a dorm, though nothing was taken it was on my mind that anyone could walk in! There were small lockers.Breakfast was a good bonus.
