We got to live in a bathroom with no electricity the first night and only warm water during special times. The stuff were not rude.

In general our experience was quite good. The staff was kind, nice and quite helpful when needed, specially if you deal with them then in the same terms there should be no problem. I have read commentaries before going, most of them negative, but our experience was positive. Maybe we were lucky with our room for three. But it was quite decent for the price paid (around 12 euros per night) and being in HK where theres a big problem of space.

Poor communication by the host. The room size is 6ft x 9ft only approx. You have a TV with limited channels a bed a table, telephone and space sufficient for a person stand on the floor. If you open the toilet door you can not open the main door. The space is so cramped and there is no window to the room or any air circulation other than the AC. The room gives a bad odor as soon as you enter.

If you don't take your bank statement to show you have paid through Hostelworld then you will need to pay cash again when you get there but they do refund straight away to your account once they have checked the online payment. Seemed rather a polava and a long way around things. In the heart of Hong Kong life so great location. Bathroom/sewer smelly and it's ensuite (of sorts). Tiniest bath I've ever seen. No outside window but got aircon. Paul and Marie

What a shock. The room was tiny and smelled. Nothing at all like the images on the website. Would not recommend so don't waste your money. Stayed in Mirador Mansion instead.

The room we got was smaller than what we had expected. There is no door in the comfort room which is only attached by a curtain. Cable television doesn't have any english channel. The location was excellent though, very near to Hong Kong primary spots like HK Museum, Avenue of the stars, and Kowloon Park.

sir/madam: we arrived at 1:30 in the morning of March 25, when Iwe went directly to TWH Tai Wan Hotel, the chinese owner was so rude and mean! He was so mad and did not accept us because we came in late . It was not our control that we came late. He should have accepted us anytime because we already have booked and paid our down payment of our room in that hotel. He was so mean and rude to us. When my husband beg him to get us another room for us to stay because our four children were so tire

The room which I saw n book didn't same. I booked with 4 single bed, not 2 deck bed..... The room is very small, We can't moved by each other. It's really bad place..... When I told them that we don't want to live anymore, they can't return back the money... That's like animal live....

Room is smaller that expected. However, having own bathroom and air-conditioner is a plus. Lift going up and down is often crowded and require queuing up. Had to use the stairs half the time. Laundry service available nearby is a plus. Due to close proximity of rooms, noisy guest in nearby rooms can be a nuisance.

The hostel is located in the Chung King Mansion and has several other hostels located in the same building. There are two elevators so there is usually a line to head up. The hot water was timed for the morning and evenings but it was an effort to save water also. It was a place to stay and sleep so no real complaints about it.

Should improve cleanliness of the area especially inside the room where guests only stay to rest and sleep.

The hostel is best if you want the location just near your place. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The only thing that we want to comment is the exhaust fan in room 35 is not working and one of the light bulb. The sliding door of the restroom also is hard to open and close but you can still use the restroom. We also experience bed bugs and my partner had bites. Those are the things we would like to take note to the Hostel but with our stay we are happy with our stay there. .

the old lady ( i guess she was a part time employee ) was so rude & did not return our 100HKD back even if we're returning the card key. the hot water has a schedule, towels needs to be requested & picked up at the counter. the room was like a big washroom as the ambiance was full of tiles. very different from the pictures. i should have taken a more costly place to stay for 4 days as it was not worth it at all. so sad. our hongkong trip was almost perfect this ruined it because of the rude lady

We arrived 3 in the morning and the owner waited patiently for us. Not only that, he upgraded us to a bigger and cozier room without any $! I guess it comes naturally for the owner to treat their vacationers like kings and queens like we did. We even got bag storage to keep our bags safe for hours before we were off to the airport Tai-Wan Hostel is clean, convenient and comfortable. Unlike any other! thank you Peter and Wife for giving us our best 4 day HK rendezvous! 4 thumbs up here!! Mike R

The recepcionists are the WORST.They lie about the rooms, we ask for a room for 5 people and they wanna put the fifth one sleeping under a table, and off course no room to walk in side the room. When we complaine, they say "you paid for a budget room so don't complain".The single bed are not bigger that 80 ctm and the double is little bit bigger that a single bed in other normal hostal. If you ask to see the room begoure to pay they say NO!. After we complaine they refuse us to rent an other room
